Pezeshkian defends executions, Iran’s youth respond with fire

On October 7, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) issued a statement reporting the execution of 27 prisoners on November 5 and 6, bringing the total to 438 executions during the presidency of Masoud Pezeshkian. On Tuesday, November 5, the regime’s president, justifying the surge in executions in response to international condemnation, deceitfully remarked: “The person executed killed ten people, planted bombs for a hundred, and now they say we violated human rights because we executed him. You cowards… are you human?”

Pezeshkian then brazenly recited a verse, adding, “If a man has any suffering, it is good, as the remedy for a life without pain is fire!” And accordingly, the rebellious youth of Iran responded to the regime’s unbridled violence with fire.

On Wednesday, November 6, the rebellious youth launched attacks on centers and symbols of repression and atrocities committed by the regime, responding to hundreds of executions since Pezeshkian assumed office and 71 executions between October 22 and November 5:

– Explosion at the judiciary building in Kahnuj, Kerman, which is responsible for prosecuting dissidents and handing out harsh sentences

– Explosion at an IRGC Basij base in Ahvaz

– Setting fire to three IRGC Basij bases in Mashhad

– Setting fire to an IRGC Basij base in Zahedan

– Burning down the “Qasem Soleimani Street” sign in Zahedan

– Setting fire to a poster of former regime president Ebrahim Raisi in Ahvaz

– Burning down regime propaganda posters in Ahvaz

– Burning down a banner of the regime’s terrorist proxy forces in Tehran

Prior to this, the brave youth targeted centers and symbols of crime and repression across various cities on November 3 in response to its executions and massacres:

– Explosion at a center of torture and punishment in Yazd

– Burning down a regime propaganda banner on a bridge in Mashhad

– Setting fire to an IRGC Basij base in Mashhad

– Burning down an IRGC Basij base in Kerman

– Burning down a Khomeini poster in Bojnurd, northeast Iran

– Burning down a Khamenei poster in Izeh, southwest Iran

– Setting fire to an intelligence ministry spy station sign in Sarbaz, southeast Iran

– Burning down three propaganda banners of the regime’s terrorist proxy forces in Semnan, Borazjan, and Qarchak (Varamin)

On Tuesday, November 5, the forty-first week of the political prisoners’ hunger strike took place in various cities as part of the “No to Executions Tuesdays” campaign. In a statement, the striking prisoners emphasized that “in this execution-driven regime, repression and executions continue to rise, with this anti-human approach toward citizens and prisoners becoming standard practice… Given that the speed of this killing machine is accelerating daily, it is vital for activists in all fields to voice their opposition to the death penalty in Iran louder than ever, to bring those responsible for the execution machine to the conscience of society, and to hold them accountable for their criminal acts.”

In a statement by the NCRI regarding the execution of 27 prisoners on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 438 executions during Pezeshkian’s term, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the NCRI, condemned the rise in executions as “[regime supreme leader Ali] Khamenei’s desperate attempt to curb public outrage and prevent uprisings.” She asserted that “The international community must ostracize this regime, and its leaders must be brought to justice for four decades of crimes against humanity and genocide.”
