On October 10, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units carried out ten operations across nine Iranian cities in response to the demolition of homes belonging to impoverished families in Tabriz. The operations targeted regime-affiliated facilities, bases of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Basij, and propaganda symbols associated with the ruling establishment.
The operations took place in Mashhad, Zahedan, Iranshahr, Kuhdasht, Shahriar, Shiraz, Saveh, Isfahan, and Sabzevar, demonstrating a nationwide response to the authorities’ treatment of vulnerable citizens.

The campaign carried a message of solidarity with families facing repression: The regime’s abuses against defenseless citizens would not go unanswered.
Families left homeless in Tabriz
On October 4, regime authorities demolished residential buildings in Tabriz, leaving impoverished families without shelter.
One resident described how authorities arrived without presenting legal documentation or a demolition order. The resident said that regime agents beat women and children and destroyed a residential building that had stood for six or seven years.
The resident said authorities destroyed the homes of people already struggling to survive, leaving families on the streets amid widespread hardship, unemployment, and difficulties obtaining basic necessities.
The incident shows a recurring theme in the daily life of Iran’s impoverished population: the vulnerability of families who invest years of effort in securing a roof over their heads, only to see it destroyed by the same authorities responsible for protecting their rights.
Ten operations across Iran challenge the regime’s institutions and symbols
In response to the demolitions, Resistance Units carried out operations against regime-affiliated facilities and symbols of the ruling establishment across the country.
In Mashhad, the Resistance Units targeted a regime building. In Zahedan, Resistance Units targeted an IRGC Basij facility, while in Iranshahr, they set fire to a Basij base. In Kuhdasht, Lorestan province, Resistance Units set fire to the entrance of another IRGC Basij base.

Other operations focused on symbols of the regime’s leadership and ideological authority.
In Shahriar and Shiraz, Resistance Units set fire to banners featuring Ali Khamenei, the former supreme leader of the regime. In Saveh, another banner of Khamenei was torched.
In Isfahan, Resistance Units carried out two separate operations, setting fire to large posters featuring Hassan Nasrallah, the former leader of the regime-backed Hezbollah, and Qasem Soleimani, the former commander of the IRGC Quds Force.
In Sabzevar, Resistance Units torched a poster featuring Mojtaba Khamenei, the regime’s current supreme leader.
Standing up for those targeted by repression
The significance of these operations extends beyond the individual targets. The families in Tabriz were struggling to maintain their homes and livelihoods when they faced the power of state authorities. Their limited ability to challenge such actions placed them in a particularly vulnerable position.
By responding with operations in other cities, the Resistance Units demonstrated that repression against impoverished citizens would not remain an isolated local incident.

The campaign shows that those who lack the resources or protection to stand up to the regime’s repression are not alone. The operations show the Resistance Units’ commitment to confront repression wherever it occurs.
While the regime may have the power to demolish the homes of defenseless citizens, it cannot assume that such injustices will pass without resistance.
