Iran’s rebellious youth mark the anniversary of the 1979 revolution by targeting regime centers

On Sunday, February 10, marking the 46th anniversary of Iran’s anti-monarchical revolution, which was hijacked by Ruhollah Khomeini, Iran’s rebellious youth demonstrated with 47 daring operations that the fire of February 1979 revolution remains ablaze.

Through a series of explosions at centers of repression, ignorance, and crime, and by setting fire to the regime’s propaganda banners—including images of Khomeini and regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei—across cities in the country, the rebellious youth mocked the regime’s repressive rule and its oppressive institutions.

While the regime was on high alert, the rebellious youth carried out their anti-repression operations with slogans such as “We fight, we die, we take back Iran,” “Death to the dictator,” and “No to shah and no to mullahs.” Below is a summary of their operations:

  • Setting fire to the headquarters of the repressive State Security Forces in Rigan, Kerman.
  • Setting fire to the headquarters of the regime’s executioners in Eyvan County, Ilam.
  • Setting fire to a center of fundamentalism and terrorism in Tehran.
  • Targeting a government torture center in Najafabad.
  • Setting fire to a center of fundamentalism and terrorism in Aligudarz.
  • Setting fire to a government propaganda banner on a bridge over Saeedi Highway in Tehran.
  • Setting fire to a government propaganda banner on a bridge over Lashkari Highway in Tehran’s Tehranpars district.
  • Setting fire to a government propaganda banner on a bridge over Kalantari Boulevard in Mashhad.
  • Setting fire to a government propaganda banner on a bridge over Khayyam Boulevard in Mashhad.
  • Setting fire to government propaganda banners for the anniversary of the revolution, featuring the images of Khomeini and Khamenei, in the cities of Tehran, Tabriz, Mashhad, Isfahan, Karaj, Rasht, Urmia, Kermanshah, Qazvin, Arak, Khorramabad, Ardabil, Birjand, Bushehr, Shahrekord, Ramsar, Khorramshahr, Amol, Lahijan, Buin Zahra, Lordegan, Boroujen, Jiroft, Iranshahr, Sarbaz, Khash, Sirjan, Saravan, Chabahar, and Hafshejan (Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province).

These blazing flames are a continuation of the fiery February 1979 uprising that Khomeini stole. The fiery operations send the message to the oppressed people of Iran that they will soon get back the freedom that the mullahs stole from them.

The 47 defiant operations, including the burning of the images of Khomeini and Khamenei under the watchful eyes of the IRGC and surveillance cameras across the country, are a testament to the proud continuation of the resistance. A resistance that has kept the flames of unwavering defiance alive and remains determined to carry the democratic revolution forward until the downfall of the religious dictatorship.

In February 1979, rebellious youth and the people of Iran, chanting “Say Death to the Shah,” stormed and seized the power centers of the treacherous Shah, dismantling the monarchy’s dictatorship while Khomeini and his lackeys stood on the sidelines and waited for an opportunity to seize power. After the mullahs hijacked the revolution, the Iranian people, through a nationwide democratic struggle, dragged Khomeini from the illusion of divinity to the pit of disgrace, exposing him in the historic uprising of June 20, 1981.

This roaring resistance continued in the battlefields of liberation and in popular uprisings such as December 2017, November 2019, and, most notably, the 2022 uprisings, where the slogan “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the mullahs” raised the flag of a democratic revolution—an Iran free from both monarchic and clerical tyranny.
