“We have a tough four weeks starting from January 19. From this day forward all new cases across the country must be considered cases of the mutated UK strain,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Monday. “If the illness remains active for a long time, we will be facing many difficult challenges. If it took two weeks to go from A to B with the pervious virus, this virus will only take 72 hours,” he added, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

The regime’s Health Ministry spokesperson announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers on Monday as 7760 new cases in the past 24 hours, being the highest such report in the past 65 days. “The threat of a fourth Covid-19 peak is looming and very serious,” she added.

“If an individual contracts the UK strain of coronavirus, they must be immediately quarantined and under special measures,” said Alireza Raisi, spokesperson of the regime’s National Covid-19 Task Force on Monday, according to state TV.

“The virus circling across Tehran is escalating and virus’ lifespan has spread significantly in various circumstances. The situation we are witnessing in Khuzestan province may be repeated in other provinces around the country,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Monday. “During the third wave the first flames were seen in Khuzestan and the wave spread to other provinces with some delay. Due to its complicated nature, we may witness new flames of the fourth peak in Tehran province,” he added, according to state TV.

“During the past ten days the number of people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Tehran’s provinces had reached nearly 2,000. In many hospitals we are seeing an increasing number of people seeking medical care on a daily basis and this is extremely concerning,” said the deputy chair of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Monday. “The number of people being hospitalized daily floats around 250 to 300. We are certainly gravely concerned about the mutated strain of the virus because the city where a number of these cases have been identified in is close to Tehran. In general, due to people’s commuting the virus can reach various areas. The only difference in Tehran is that the impact of this virus in this city is more in comparison to others in different provinces,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The number of people seeking medical care in hospitals and the number of dire patients in this peak has left us in need of more ICU beds. Around 350 ICU beds in hospitals across Khuzestan province are allocated for Covid-19 patients. However, as we speak several cities are facing shortages in ICU beds. Therefore, we have been forced to allocate other branches to coronavirus in order to provide care for the demanding public. In Khuzestan we now have 500 confirmed coronavirus patients hospitalized and another 400 cases with symptoms similar to Covid-19,” said the dean of Ahvaz Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The number of people seeking medical care has increased eight-fold in comparison to four weeks ago. This will most definitely lead to an increase in the number of new cases,” said the deputy dean of Dezful Medical Sciences University on Monday. “Currently the number of new cases has increased significantly in comparison to the past four weeks,” this official added, according to the official IRIB news agency.

“We cannot provide adequate medical care if the number of new cases increases in the next two weeks. Yesterday we witnessed a 60 percent increase in the number of positive cases in comparison to the previous day,” said dean of Shushtar Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“From late December to early February the positive Covid-19 test ratio was ten percent. These figures have now reached 45 percent,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Monday. “Comparing the first three weeks of January to the first three weeks of February we are witnessing a 250 percent increase in the number of patients hospitalized and positive tests,” this official added, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“In this wave we will be facing an increasing number of ICU patients,” said the dean of Kermanshah Medical Sciences University on Monday. “Recently a research by Kermanshah University indicates 25 to 30 percent of the population in Kermanshah province have contracted the virus,” this official added, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.
