“We are concerned about our conditions in late February and March because once again the number of new Covid-19 cases have increased and this is a very serious warning,” said Minoo Mohraz, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Sunday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

In Tehran province, Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force said the number of new cases has increased by 3 percent in the past 24 hours. “Currently there are 2090 patients in sections allocated for coronavirus patients. From the beginning of last week to this day the number of new Covid-19 cases have been changing at a certain rate. In the past 24 hours 266 coronavirus new patients have been hospitalized and 87 are in ICUs. However, during this same 24-hour period 136 patients have been released from hospitals,” he said on Sunday, according to the Fars news agency.

“The society’s patience is wearing thin, and the economic and psychological dilemmas caused by Covid-19 have increased psychological pressure on the people. This is making their patience of officials’ behavior become very narrow,” said the Tehran City Council chair on Sunday. “If we expect people to continue defending the state, at least we should not be sending messages of despair that instigate tension to our society,” he added, according to the state controlled Eskan News media outlet.

The dean of Ahvaz Medical Sciences University is reporting a 48 percent increase in the number of Covid-19 patients, a 50 percent increase in the number of those hospitalized and a 12 percent increase in the coronavirus death toll across Khuzestan province. “The number of coronavirus patients being hospitalized across the province is rising significantly. Razi Hospital in the city of Ahvaz is now full,” he said on Saturday. The Golestan, Amir al-Momenin, and Sina hospitals in Ahvaz are also now accepting coronavirus patients. Furthermore, the number of people seeking medical treatment with Covid-19 symptoms in Ayatollah Taleghani Hospital in the city of Abadan and the Dezful Hospital are increasing. During the past week, the number of new cases increased by 1180 percent in one city alone,” the official added, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The number of coronavirus patients hospitalized across Khuzestan province has tripled. If we are neglecting, we will be facing a severe peak,” said the governor of Khuzestan province on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The spread of this virus in the city of Dezful has intensified and the number of new cases and those hospitalized continue to rise,” said the dean of Dezful Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The number of people seeking medical care with coronavirus symptoms have increased by 30 percent and those being released from hospital have decreased. During the upcoming two weeks we will witness an increase in the number of coronavirus patients being hospitalized and the death toll. If such conditions continue, we will be entering a new peak,” said the dean of Qazvin Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“From last week to this day the number of blue cities has decreased from 17 to 11, and the number of yellow cities has increased from six to 11,” said the deputy governor of Kerman province on Sunday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.
