“Whenever vaccination begins in Iran we will definitely be in better circumstances… be it a foreign vaccine, which millions of doses of foreign vaccines will be imported, and then starting in the summer we will hopefully have domestic vaccines enter the market and people can use it,” said regime President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday.

“Even if everything goes well, we will not have a domestic vaccine prior to mid-spring,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Monday, according to state TV.

“There is an established general expectation across the country in order to place pressure on the state to purchase American vaccines,” said a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) in a report on Tuesday. “If adequate measures are not adopted by Health Ministry officials, the matter of importing and distributing the coronavirus vaccine can transform into a crisis and a national security issue,” he added, according to the Majlis news agency.

“Commuting to 18 cities registered as orange zones in the country’s north remains forbidden. 124 cities are registered as yellow zones. Based on the new instructions issued by the National Covid-19 Task Force commuting restrictions imposed in orange zones will also be imposed in yellow zones,” said a deputy Health Minister on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“Emergency sections in our hospitals are gradually being cramped with patients suffering from breathing disorders. We had 6200 people seeking medical care,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Monday. “Considering these stats and if such circumstances continue in the coming days, we can say that we may be on the verge of a new wave in Tehran province,” he added, according to the state controlled Entekhab daily.

“The trend of new cases in the cities of Abadan, Khorramshahr, and Shadegan have increased in comparison to last week. Furthermore, the cities of Ahvaz, Omidiyeh and Masjed Soleyman have once again been registered as yellow zones,” said the dean of Abadan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency. “If we are not able to put out these small fires, we will be heading towards a large blaze and should be expecting a difficult peak at the end of the winter season,” the official added.

“The number of coronavirus patients has reached 384, of which 124 are in ICUs and 22 are in under ventilators. The total number of Covid-19 deaths stands at 3517,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
