Regime President Hassan Rouhani resorted to more lies today as mullahs’ officials grow even more concerned about public protests over their refusal to procure Covid-19 vaccines. “There should be no concerns about the production of indigenous vaccines and procuring foreign made vaccines. Right alongside the world and even better than some countries we have been advancing in the fight against this virus,” Rouhani claimed on Wednesday. “The Central Bank and Health Ministry are doing their best and conducting the necessary planning to provide a trustable foreign vaccine for the people. And we are taking measures to produce indigenous vaccines… In the past seven years the country’s health system has been able to double its abilities and this government’s health apparatus abilities have been twice that of our country’s entire history,” he claimed.

FATF rules do not include humanitarian goods. They do not interfere in the purchase of such goods. If some people are in a hurry, they should not take advantage of the FATF issue in this regard. Today it is about the vaccine, tomorrow they’ll blame the high prices of poultry and eggs on this matter, and the next day for a different issue,” said a member of the regime’s Expediency Council on Wednesday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“In the Covid-19 mutation witnessed in the United Kingdom, there is this possibility at the recent peak in our country we had witnessed a significant spread of coronavirus and this could have been the mutated virus and it had entered our country prior to that,” said Minoo Mohraz, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Wednesday. “The reason is that in the recent peak the transmission rate was extremely high and the number of people seeking medical treatment was remarkably high. On some days we did not have enough beds to hospitalize people,” she added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“To this day we have seen no trace of the UK virus in our country. Of course, we had seen mutations in the virus but none were of the UK type,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Wednesday. “There are still extreme zones in the country’s northern areas and we need to be careful not to return to our previous circumstances,” he added, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

Head of the Iran Medical Sciences University said on Wednesday that the lifespan of state hospitals in Tehran are more than 40 years and most need renovations. “Most of the province’s hospitals are not resistant against six-magnitude or stronger earthquakes,” he explained, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“In the past 24 hours we have lost 26 coronavirus patients,” said the spokesperson of the Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the IMNA news agency. “During the second Covid-19 peak in September the virus was far more vicious, and all our hospitals were allocated to Covid-19 patients. The number of people hospitalized reached 2200 in one day alone,” said the head of the Isfahan Province Emergency Center on Wednesday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“Currently we have 4500 active nurses in medical centers across Kermanshah province, of which 1483 have contracted coronavirus,” said the dean of Kermanshah Medical Sciences University on Wednesday. “Of the 4500 nurses in Kermanshah, 10 percent work for private companies, 35 percent have temporary contracts and the rest have official contracts or work through contracting companies. Therefore, most of them are not ensured of a permanent job. Nurses in Kermanshah also don’t have regular paychecks,” the official added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
