Iran coronavirus update: Over 481,900 deaths, experts warn of premature normalization

Over 481,900 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Saturday afternoon local time, November 27. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 129,549, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 112,915 in Tehran, 39,225 in Razavi Khorasan, 33,035 in Isfahan, 29,290 in Khuzestan, 18,073 in West Azerbaijan, 17,940 in Fars, 17,575 in Mazandaran, 16,643 in East Azerbaijan, 15,965 in Lorestan, 13,060 in Qom, 8989 in Kermanshah, 7923 in Yazd, and 5554 in Qazvin. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Saturday as 87 deaths and 3045 new cases. Furthermore, 3356 patients are in ICUs and 583 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“With the normalization that we have witnessed, and all the bus, plane, and train tickets being sold out, the National Covid-19 Task Force should not relieve itself of necessary tools. If this task force begins to go loose, we may go from the fifth to the sixth peak just as we did from the second to the third peak,” said a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) Health Commission on Saturday, according to the state-run Eghtesad Online website.

“During the past 24 hours 309 coronavirus cases have been registered. There are currently 394 patients hospitalized and 169 dire patients in ICUs, 32 of which are under ventilators,” according to a statement released on Saturday by the West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University.

“The number of coronavirus patients that are currently hospitalized across [Fars] province stands at 1203, of which 160 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released on Saturday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University.

“There are currently 719 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 146 are in ICUs,” according to a joint statement released on Saturday by the Isfahan and Kashan Medical Sciences universities.

“We currently have 356 coronavirus patients hospitalized in Yazd province, of which 95 are in ICUs,” according to the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“According to the health minister, there will no longer be any coronavirus vaccine imports and we will mostly be relying on indigenous production! To prevent many deaths in the sixth peak with a new variant we either must have all individuals above the age of 18 receive booster shots or an effective number of credible vaccines. Although officials always think about important vaccines only after the crisis has struck. When the World Health Organization warned of the dangerous virus variant, we should not remain indifferent as in the past and leave our compatriots dying due to hesitancy,” reads a piece published on Saturday in the state-run Jahan-e San’at daily.
