The nationwide uprising against the religious dictatorship in Iran has reached its eighteenth day on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Following a seventeenth day marked by the regime erecting concrete walls in Ahvaz and evacuating universities to stifle dissent in tandem with an ongoing nationwide internet blackout, the confrontation has escalated significantly.
On Wednesday, the regime’s desperation became palpable as Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje’i personally visited Tehran prisons, issuing orders for the immediate execution of detained protesters. While the regime attempts to enforce a digital blackout by raiding homes for Starlink equipment, the resistance continues to grow, with fierce clashes reported in Tehran, Mashhad, and Kermanshah.
Day 18 Roundup: Judiciary threatens “speedy” executions, house raids for Starlink, and heavy clashes in Mashhad
On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the eighteenth day of the uprising, the regime intensified its crackdown with high-level judicial threats and house-to-house raids, yet the rebellious youth struck back, inflicting casualties on the oppressive forces.
Key highlights from today include:
- Eje’i Orders Speedy Executions: In a panic-stricken visit to Tehran prisons, Judiciary Chief Mohseni Eje’i ordered judges to issue verdicts immediately, stating that delaying executions would cause them to “lose their effect.”
- 38 More Martyrs Identified: The PMOI/MEK released the names of 38 more martyrs of the uprising, bringing the verified death toll since the protests began to over 3,000.
- Colonel Killed in Mashhad: During intense clashes in Mashhad, rebellious youth acted in self-defense, resulting in the death of a regime colonel and three Basij members who were firing on civilians.
- Starlink Raids: Fearing the free flow of information, security forces launched violent house-to-house raids across various cities to confiscate satellite dishes and Starlink equipment.
- “Coup de Grâce” in Tehran: Horrific reports from Simay Azadi indicate that security forces in Tehran’s Sattarkhan district are shooting injured protesters at close range to “finish them off.”
- International Warning: European lawmakers call for the terrorist designation of the IRGC.
Judiciary Chief Eje’i in prisons: “If we don’t act today, it will be too late”
In a clear sign of the regime’s fragility, the Judiciary Chief of the mullahs, Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje’i, spent five hours visiting Tehran’s prisons on Wednesday. His objective was explicit: to terrorize detainees and accelerate the issuance of heavy sentences, including the death penalty.
Speaking to judges and prison officials, Eje’i stressed the need for haste in suppressing the uprising. He stated, “If we do not do this today, it will lose its effect two months from now… If we want to do something, we must do it quickly.”
According to state media, Eje’i personally interrogated detainees without any regard for legal principles. While the regime claims trials will be public, human rights organizations have warned that these are kangaroo courts designed to facilitate mass executions.
PMOI releases names of 38 more martyrs; Death toll exceeds 3,000
NCRI Statement: Names of 38 More Martyrs of #Iran's Heroic Nationwide Uprising Announcedhttps://t.co/1CeGXrFt8i
— NCRI-FAC (@iran_policy) January 14, 2026
The Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has announced the names of 38 additional martyrs of the nationwide uprising, five of whom are women. This announcement follows the grim confirmation that more than 3,000 freedom-loving Iranians have been killed by the regime’s repressive forces between December 28 and January 11.
The martyrs hail from across the country, including Rasht, Kermanshah, Bandar Abbas, Mashhad, and Isfahan, reflecting the nationwide breadth of the revolt.
Atrocities in Sattarkhan: Security forces delivering “Coup de Grâce”

Reports received by Simay Azadi from Tehran’s Sattarkhan district describe war crimes being committed on the streets. Witnesses report that security forces are engaging in indiscriminate killing, including shooting a resident dead simply for taking out the trash. Most shockingly, reports confirm that suppressive forces are delivering the coup de grâce—shooting the wounded in the head or heart—to ensure injured protesters do not survive.
Mashhad and Kermanshah: Regime forces suffer casualties as youth fight back
Despite the brutality, the resistance is intensifying. On Tuesday night, during clashes in Mashhad (northeast Iran), a regime colonel and three members of the Basij militia, who were actively firing upon the people, were killed by rebellious youth.
In Kermanshah (western Iran), hit-and-run battles persisted throughout the night, particularly in the Taq-e Bostan area. The regime has been forced to dispatch reinforcements from Qasr-e Shirin, Ravansar, and Javanrud to try to contain the city.
In Shahr-e Babak (Kerman province), the situation is described as “warlike,” with hundreds arrested and the city’s intelligence chief injured in clashes. Meanwhile, in Tehran, large crowds in the Sadeghieh district chanted “Death to the dictator,” while youth clashed with special units in Teatr-e Shahr, Tehranpars, and Valiasr.
Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, praised the fearless youth who are bringing the regime to its knees, stating that the digital lockdown and heavy weapons only underscore Khamenei’s failure.
House-to-house raids for Starlink as internet blackout continues
⚠️ Update: Metrics show #Iran remains offline as the country wakes to another day of digital darkness.
With the internet blackout now past its 132nd hour, early reports indicate thousands of casualties. The true extent of the killings is obscured by the absence of connectivity. pic.twitter.com/KVNqOTH848

Terrified of the truth reaching the world, the regime has launched a campaign of house-to-house raids. Reports from multiple cities on Wednesday indicate that security agents are violently entering homes to confiscate satellite dishes and Starlink internet equipment.
This crackdown coincides with a devastating internet blackout. NetBlocks confirms that Iran remains offline for over 132 hours. The organization warns that this “digital darkness” is obscuring the true extent of the killings, which are estimated to be in the thousands.
Global Condemnation: “The Ayatollah’s fall is inevitable”
If not now, then when?
It's time for Europe to act decisively.
It’s time for stronger sanctions against those sustaining the Iranian regime through violence, killings and repression.
It’s time for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to finally be designated as a terrorist… pic.twitter.com/zqtBZo1BMW

The international community continues to rally behind the Iranian people.
- European Parliament President Roberta Metsola stated, “It’s time for stronger sanctions… It’s time for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to finally be designated as a terrorist organisation.”
- Senator Dave McCormick remarked on the “sheer courage” of the Iranian people standing up to “barbaric tyranny.”
- The US House Foreign Affairs Committee Majority declared, “The Ayatollah’s fall is inevitable. The Rial is worthless… Khamenei’s only way to cling to power now is by slaughtering innocent Iranians.”
The Ayatollah’s fall is inevitable. The Rial is worthless and the regime can’t fund even basic services. Khamenei's only way to cling to power now is by slaughtering innocent Iranians rising up to protest. That’s not a winning strategy. pic.twitter.com/Ynv6ebAGcn
