Reported by PMOI/MEK

Iran, Jan. 7,2019 – Latest reports from members of Resistance Units associated to Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) throughout Iran.

Members of Resistance Unit 552 in Tabriz, northwest Iran, set fire to a poster with images of Iranian regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The unit sent a message saying this was carried out to mark the release of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi from prison on January 20, 1979. They also left a sign at the scene reading, “January 20, marking the release of Massoud, the hope of Iran.”

On Sunday in Mashhad, northeast Iran, members of a resistance unit set fire to a Khomeini/Khamenei poster.

On Saturday, members of Resistance Unit 770 in Golestan, northern Iran, destroyed a large Khamenei poster in the Asia Highway and left a sign at the scene reading, “Death to Khamenei – Viva the National Liberation Army of Iran.”

Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, a member of the Iranian regime’s Majlis (parliament), acknowledged the regime’s impasse and issued a warning emphasizing that allocating budgets for further meddling in the region cannot be effective as in the past. Such measures can actually “cripple us in the streets of Tehran,” he said in a speech in the Majlis.

“When the Soviet Union was overthrown they had 13,000 nuclear warheads, enjoyed influence and presence in over 20 countries and had a space station. Yet they were torn apart in the streets of Moscow, and all their security and sovereignty was annihilated,” Jahanabadi added in his remarks.

“Today, people are having trouble making ends meet and can barely feed their children. If we cannot remedy the excessive price of our domestic and foreign policies, we will have to bear grave costs. Our national security will be endangered not by our enemies, but in the streets of our own cities.”
