Iran, September 9, 2020— The internal network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) continued to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the foundation of the organization and hailed the MEK’s 55 years of struggle against the monarchist and theocratic dictatorships of the Shah and the mullahs.
On September 8, the Iranian Resistance Units organized various activities across the country that called for an end to the theocratic regime ruling Iran. They echoed the Iranian people’s yearning for freedom, democracy, and popular sovereignty. The members of the Resistance Units sent many messages from inside the country to renew their support for the MEK’s struggle and their pledge to overthrow the mullahs’ regime.
The Iranians inside Iran celebrate the anniversary of MEK’s foundation while Iran is on the brink of a possible unexpected socio-political outburst in upcoming months, according to many Iranian officials who in recent months have warned about the explosive state of the Iranian society. The MEK Resistance Units have played a significant role the recent nationwide uprisings and support for them is growing rapidly among the youths.
Many Iranians believe that MEK’s strong political and organizational capabilities and democratic views have made people inclined towards them. Incidentally, in a global online conference on Saturday September 5, many Iranians around the world expressed their trust and support for the MEK as the only viable alternative to the mullahs.

Zahra Merrikhi, the Secretary General of the MEK stressed in her remarks at the same conference marking MEK’s 55th anniversary that “It is not without reason that the regime’s leaders constantly warn of the expansion of popular support for the MEK and the role played by the MEK’s Resistance Units in organizing the uprising and the anti-government protests.”
The representatives of more than 300 Iranian association around the world participated in an online conference on Saturday September 5, to express their trust and support for the MEK as a viable alternative to the mullahs.
Also, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said in her remarks that “the Iranian society is in an explosive state. Look at the uprisings in November 2019 and January 2020. Those who took to the streets left no doubt that the solution for all problems lies in the overthrow of the mullahs’ religious dictatorship. They are not looking back to the past. They have set their sights on the future. They chanted, ‘Death to the oppressor, whether it is the Shah or the (mullahs’ Supreme) Leader.”
The explosive state of Iran’s society
At the current circumstances, as many regime’s insiders have acknowledge the society is like a “nitrate of dissent that may explode at any time” and “one simple excuse, is enough then the match will set fire to the powder keg and everything will come to an end.”
On Monday September 7, the defiant and rebellious youth of Iran targeted several suppressive centers of the regime in different cities.
Iran’s defiant youth targeted a regime’s center for spreading fundamentalism in Khorramabad. Simultaneously a building belonging to the “Khomeini” economic foundation was torched in Mashhad. These institutions are used by the mullahs as instruments to suppress the Iranian people and plunder their wealth.
On the same day, in various cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, Shahreza, Langarud, and Nour (Mazandaran) propaganda banners of the regime were torched by the rebellious and brave youth, including various banners of the terror master Qassem Soleimani. Soleimani, the commander of the IRGC Quds Force and head of the mullahs’ extraterritorial terrorist attacks, was killed in Iraq on January 3 by a U.S. drone airstrike.
These activities reflect the public outrage and dissent toward the regime and underscored the blazing readiness of the Iranian people to overthrow the mullahs and establish a democratic state.
