Iran: PMOI/MEK network installing images of opposition leaders

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, November 4, 2019—Members of “Resistance Units” and supporters of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) are continuing their campaigns in numerous cities across Iran during the months of October and November. These groups, comprised of PMOI supporters, are becoming symbols of persistence and perseverance in the face of the Iranian regime’s ongoing domestic crackdown, providing hope for a nation yearning to be free.

In Tehran, resistance units members put up a large image of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi at a pedestrian bridge with a line reading, “Down with dictatorship; Down with reactionism; Hail to Rajavi.”

At another such bridge in the Iranian capital, resistance units members put up another Massoud Rajavi image reading, “Down with dictatorship; Down with reactionism; Hail to Rajavi.”

At the pedestrian bridge of the Azadegan highway in Tehran, resistance units members put up a large image of Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), with a line reading, “With Maryam Rajavi, we can and we must build a new Iran.”

At another pedestrian bridge in Tehran, resistance units members put another Maryam Rajavi poster reading, “Down with dictatorship; Down with reactionism; Viva freedom.”

In Mashhad, a large city in northeast Iran, resistance units members put up an image of Massoud Rajavi in a residential area with a line reading, “Down with dictatorship; Down with reactionism; Viva freedom; Hail to Rajavi.”

In Kashan, a city in central Iran, resistance units members put an image of Massoud Rajavi with lines reading, “Hail to Rajavi; Viva freedom.”

It is worth noting that any support for the MEK inside Iran is considered punishable by death by the mullahs’ judiciary. Back in June 2014, Gholamreza Khosravi, a PMOI supporter, was arrested and executed merely for sending a small financial donation to a satellite TV network affiliated to the MEK. “Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani was arrested in 2008 in Rafsanjan, Kerman Province, in connection with his alleged support of the pro-PMOI (People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran) TV station Sima-ye Azadi (Voice of Freedom),” according to Amnesty International.
