Iran, March 8, 2019 – A report on the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) “Resistance Units” marking International Women’s Day on March 8 of this year.
Five women members of resistance units in Tehran raised posters of Maryam Rajavi, President of the Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) to mark this global day.
In Karaj, west of the country’s capital, four women members of resistance units put up Maryam Rajavi posters while chanting, “Viva Maryam – Iran Maryam, Maryam Iran.”
In Hamedan, west of Iran, three women members of resistance units raised signs in English reading, “Viva Viva Rajavi,” referring to Maryam Rajavi and also Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi.
In Tabriz, northwest Iran, members of resistance unit raised Maryam Rajavi signs with quotes reading, “We can and we must establish freedom in Iran.”
A member of Resistance Unit 420 in Ahvaz, southwest Iran, raised a Maryam Rajavi sign reading no to compulsory hijab, no to compulsory state rule.
In Tehran, members of Resistance Unit 995 raised a sign reading, “We the women of Iran will destroy the mullahs.”
In Urmia, northwest Iran, members of resistance units raised a sign quoting Maryam Rajavi and reading, “We can and we must overthrow the mullahs’ dictatorship.”
A member of resistance units in Hamedan raised Maryam Rajavi signs and quotes against compulsory hijab, against compulsory religion and no to dictatorship.
In Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari Province, southern Iran, members of resistance units raised images of Maryam Rajavi and the Iranian women’s struggle for equality and freedom.
In Kermanshah, western Iran, members of Resistance Unit 555 raised a sign quoting Maryam Rajavi on overthrowing the mullahs’ regime.
Members of Resistance Unit 710 in Tehran put posters quoting Maryam Rajavi on how women have led the protests in many scenes across the country. Other Maryam Rajavi posters contained quotes encouraging women to rise against all forms oppression and discrimination against women.
