Iran, April 30, 2019 – Students of Khajeh-Nasir University in Tehran, the capital of Iran, held a rally on Monday protesting against charging fees for their classes, new and unjust regulations implemented to the new study courses, substandard food and dorm conditions, and disregarding the students’ social and daily issues.
The students were heard chanting, “Our careless authorities are our disgrace.”

Elsewhere, a group of workers of the Vahdat Labor Association and Mellal Institute, two local government-run financial entities, rallied on Monday in Tehran to protest being laid-off after ten years of experience working for these firms. The protest rallies were held in front of the mullahs’ judiciary in the capital. They were holding banners and placards reading:
“We are flood-hit residents of Lorestan and Khuzestan provinces. Our lives have been literally washed away by recent floods, and now the company is firing us making our living next to impossible. Our lives are being threatened.”
The protesters were heard chanting, “Having a decent job is our inalienable right.”
