Iran, October 21, 2019—Supporters of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) across Iran are celebrating the anniversary of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s election as President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
Four brave female members of a resistance unit in Tehran raised Maryam Rajavi posters and chanted, “Maryam, we’ll bring you to Tehran!”
Three other such members in the Iranian capital were seen chanting, “Democracy, freedom, with Maryam Rajavi!” while raising images of the Iranian opposition President.

It is worth noting that any support for the PMOI/MEK inside Iran is considered punishable by death by the mullahs’ judiciary. Back in June 2014, Gholamreza Khosravi, a PMOI/MEK supporter, was arrested and executed merely for sending a small financial donation to a satellite TV network affiliated to the PMOI/MEK. “Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani was arrested in 2008 in Rafsanjan, Kerman Province, in connection with his alleged support of the pro-PMOI (People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran) TV station Sima-ye Azadi (Voice of Freedom),” according to Amnesty International.
A resistance unit in the city of Damavand, northern Iran, raised a poster reading, “Democracy, freedom, with Maryam Rajavi!”
In other parts of Tehran, other PMOI/MEK supporters raised signs reading “Iran – Ashraf – Freedom,” referring to Ashraf 3 where PMOI/MEK members are currently based in Albania.
In the city of Karaj, west of Tehran, a group of resistance unit members raised images of Maryam Rajavi and texts reading, “Free Iran with Maryam Rajavi” and “Our choice: Maryam Rajavi.”
Two other female resistance unit members in Tehran’s Chitgar Park raised a large Maryam Rajavi poster with a line reading, “Free Iran with Maryam Rajavi.”
In Karaj, PMOI/MEK supporters put up eight different posters of Maryam Rajavi, describing her as the symbol of perseverance and resistance in the face of the mullahs’ regime.

In Isfahan, central Iran, resistance unit members put up Maryam Rajavi posters also celebrating this occasion.
In the city of Ahvaz, southwest Iran, a Maryam Rajavi poster read, “Rebellious cities are ready for an uprising to establish freedom and justice.”
Various measures in this regard were also seen in the cities of Tehran and Karaj.
Resistance unit members also took to graffiti in the cities of Tehran, Abhar, Isfahan and Karaj, writing difference messages including:

-Free Iran with Maryam Rajavi
