Iran, December 15, 2019—Sources inside Iran affiliated to the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) are providing a continuous stream of new reports and updates regarding the November uprising. The MEK has successfully obtained the names of 19 more victims killed by the regime’s security forces during the massacre, raising the number of identified protesters killed to 476.
Reports to this day indicate at least 1,029 people who have been killed by the regime’s ruthless security forces are now identified. There are also horrific reports and footage of dead bodies being found in rivers and near dams, especially recently close to Ahvaz, southwest of Iran.

Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), called on the international community to stand alongside the Iranian people and take action to protect the lives of those arrested. “The international community’s inaction has scarred conscience of contemporary humanity,” Madam Rajavi added.

NCRI President Rajavi called on the United Nations Secretary-General to condemn this major crime and demanded the urgent dispatch of a fact-finding mission to Iran to visit the detention centers and those arrested. She also called for the convening of a Security Council session to address this horrific crime and to hold to account the leaders of the religious fascism ruling Iran. Madam Rajavi underscored that the international community’s inaction vis-à-vis this massacre, one of the most heinous atrocities in the 21st century, has scarred the conscience of contemporary humanity and will be construed by the regime as a green light to continue and intensify its crimes.
The November uprising in Iran shook the very pillars of the mullahs’ regime and spread to at least 191 cities, according to the latest updates. MEK reports also indicate the actual number of demonstrators killed by the mullahs’ regime is far higher, citing popular reports. Efforts to confirm these reports continue to provide a comprehensive image of the uprising scope. The regime in Tehran went the distance in shutting down access to the internet in order to pursue their crackdown in silence.
Concerns among IRGC
The Javan daily, a newspaper affiliated to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), published an editorial reading, “The recent protests were similar to the 1981 incidents. Armed clashes were reported in various cities, including various examples of Khuzestan Province in southwest Iran. There was no such case from 1981 to this day… In 2009, a number of people were killed outside two IRGC Basij sites where there were dozens of weapons. In 2017, a number of people were killed in an attack on a police station in Qahdarijan (central Iran). This year, however, there were over 80 reports of attacks on such sites. Most of the protesters did not pose particular risks. In one city, however, two to five individuals took control of the scene and physically changed the course of the protesters, changed the slogans. Their planning and directing was very precise and specifically calculated.”
