Iran, August 14, 2021—Over 362,400 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Saturday afternoon local time, August 14. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 97,208, around a fourth of the actual figure.
The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 85,246 in Tehran, 24,350 in Isfahan, 22,935 in Razavi Khorasan, 22,751 in Khuzestan, 14,060 in Mazandaran, 13,688 in East Azerbaijan, 13,260 in Lorestan, 12,973 in West Azerbaijan, 12,642 in Fars, 11,935 in Gilan, 10,695 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 10,628 in Alborz, 9138 in Kerman, 8625 in Golestan, 6598 in Kermanshah, 6333 in Yazd, 6255 in Hormozgan, 4909 in North Khorasan, 4405 in Ardabil, 3800 in Zanjan, 3668 in Ilam, and 2749 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.
The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Saturday as 466 deaths and 29,700 new cases. Furthermore, 7252 patients are in ICUs (new pandemic record) and 4154 of the new cases have been hospitalized.
“Currently there are 359 cities and towns registered as red zones, 59 as orange and 30 as yellow. There are no cities or towns registered as blue zones,” according to the Saturday statement released by the Health Ministry.

“Starting tomorrow at 12 noon there will be commuting restrictions that will be implemented until Friday, August 27. All administrative offices will be closed starting this coming Monday until Saturday, August 21. Other than necessary offices, all others and even banks will be closed. Only those facilities registered as Group One will be allowed to remain open,” said Alireza Zali, spokesperson of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Saturday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
“Until March 20 we had around 140,000 coronavirus deaths… The next four-and-a-half months accumulated to 54,000. As a result, the number of Covid-19 deaths up to early august reached around 194,000, while our official stats stand at 93,000,” according to a Saturday article published by the state-run E’temad daily newspaper.
“In the span of 14 days the number of cases jumped from 1386 to 3140, indicating a 250 percent increase. The number of people hospitalized rose by 150 percent and the daily death toll by 450 percent,” said the deputy dean of Ahvaz Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The daily coronavirus death toll in Mashhad has reached around 300 and is increasing with each passing day,” according to a Friday report wired by the regime's official IRNA news agency.
“In Mashhad, cemetery officials have asked taxi drivers to use their vehicles to transfer corpses because there are not enough vehicles available in the city to transfer all the existing dead bodies to the cemeteries,” according to a Saturday piece published by the state-run Setareyeh-Sobh daily.
“All our initial medicines have been depleted and we are expecting the current death toll to rise. Even if we accelerate the vaccination pace—which probably will not happen anyhow—it will take at least three weeks for the first vaccine to produce antibodies. I am forecasting that the current daily death toll will increase to over 1000 per day,” said the head of the emergency branch at Markazi (Central) Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the state-run Setareyeh-Sobh daily.
“At a time when the number of positive Covid-19 tests in Qazvin is rising, we have decided to equip the Qazvin Gas Company’s gymnasium as a facility to hospitalize coronavirus patients,” said the head of Crisis Management in Qazvin province on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Twenty cities and towns in [Isfahan] province are engulfed with coronavirus cases and medical centers are reporting critical conditions. During the next ten days the number of patients hospitalized will surpass the 5000 mark,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Mehr news agency.
“Currently we have 5082 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 427 are in ICUs,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Mehr news agency.
“We have reached the peak of the fifth wave. 1973 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, of which 223 are in ICUs and 98 are under ventilators,” according to a statement released by Golestan Medical Sciences University on Saturday.
“We are running out of available ICU beds. In Fazlipour Hospital all the corridors, the prayer house, and the basement are full of patients. If we don’t think of something we will witness a catastrophe similar to Mashhad and other provinces,” said the governor of Kerman province on Saturday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

Following the remarks made by Alireza Zali, head of the National Covid-19 Task Force, about how the regime refrained from providing its true Covid-19 death toll to the World Health Organization, the state-run Jahan-e San’at daily published an article on Saturday shedding even more light on this subject.
“Officials blatantly lied to the WHO that led to the death of more than 95,000 Iranians. This is no joke… Considering the fact that today the daily death toll has reached the 600 mark, those officials responsible for the death of our compatriots must be prosecuted.”
