Iran, August 7, 2021—Over 351,300 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Saturday afternoon local time, August 7. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 93,473, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 82,296 in Tehran, 23,720 in Isfahan, 22,226 in Khuzestan, 21,445 in Razavi Khorasan, 13,595 in Mazandaran, 13,105 in Lorestan, 12,703 in West Azerbaijan, 12,092 in Fars, 11,326 in Gilan, 10,360 in Qom, 10,273 in Alborz, 10,225 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 8773 in Kerman, 8295 in Golestan, 7243 in Hamedan, 7058 in Markazi, 6132 in Yazd, 6045 in Hormozgan, 4809 in North Khorasan, 4240 in Ardabil, 4024 in Bushehr, 3606 in Ilan, and 2840 in Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Saturday as 387 deaths and 26,439 new cases. Furthermore, 6375 patients are in ICUs (new pandemic record) and 3705 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“336 cities are registered as red zones, 84 as orange, 28 as yellow… The trend of increasing cases continues as we speak, and this is more than what we witnessed during the fourth wave. From July 30 to August 5 the highest number of coronavirus patients were reported in the provinces of Mazandaran, Ilam, Golestan, Gilan, and Bushehr,” according to the Health Ministry’s Saturday statement.

“The situation is so fragile that as we are still in the rising slope of this peak hospitals have run out of beds and are now running out of parking spaces or even places for patients to be placed in the streets,” according to a Friday report wired by the semi-official ISNA news agency. “The catastrophic situation in hospitals and lack of available beds in Tehran, Mashhad, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Abadan, Khuzestan, and … now cities in the north are experiencing similar conditions. All the country’s medical facilities are experiencing their most crowded circumstances since their launch… A massive death flood is in the making, with endless corpses heading to Beheshte Zahra and other cemeteries,” the report adds.

“Our daily death toll had not reached 400 when an activist in this field talked about 1200 deaths per day. One only needs to go down to Beheshte Zahra or the Bibi Sakine Cemeter in Karaj (west of Tehran). The figure 1200 is far closer to reality than the very conservative official numbers that are being announced,” according to a Saturday piece published in the state-run Sharq daily.

“Yesterday 22,700 patients sought initial medical care in medical facilities across Tehran, 2310 new patients were hospitalized and 225 were placed in ICUs. In total we currently have 9484 coronavirus patients hospitalized in Tehran, of which 2500 are in ICUs,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Saturday, according to the state-run Hamshahri daily.

“Currently we have 2855 coronavirus patients hospitalized across [Isfahan] province, of which 412 are in ICUs,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the state-run IMNA news agency.

“What we are witnessing during the past few days is an unprecedented increase in the number of Covid-19 deaths. Extremely sad days are awaiting us that we may never had imagined before,” said the director of Isfahan Cemeteries on Saturday, according to the IMNA news agency.

“Hospitals reaching their capacity limits and our health professionals suffering from extreme fatigue have placed [Khuzestan] province before a serious catastrophe. The only solution to this crisis is a full shutdown of the province for at least two weeks and imposing severe restrictions,” said the dean of Abadan Medical Sciences University on Saturday in a letter to the Khuzestan governor, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“In the cities of Doleijan and Mahallat the ICU branches have reached their capacity limits. In other cities there are only a very limited number of ICU beds available. However, considering the low number of medical professionals available, we are unable to provide special medical care to some of the cities,” said the dean of Arak Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“All hospitals across Qom have reached their capacity limits while we have yet to reach the peak of the fifth wave. We are expecting a major intervention, such as shutting down Qom for at least a week,” said the dean of Qom Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“Hospitals are filled with coronavirus patients and have reached their capacity limits. All ten cities are red zones, and this indicates that we are facing a critical situation regarding the spread of this illness,” said the dean of Bushehr Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Tasnim news agency.

“80 percent of the hospitals’ branches are allocated to Covid-19 patients. During the past few days, the emergency sections of all our hospitals, including this medical center, have seen double the number of patients entering,” said the head of Hashemi-nezhad Hospital in Mashhad on Saturday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
