The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 84,127, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 74,836 in Tehran, 21,565 in Isfahan, 20,226 in Khuzestan, 19,440 in Razavi Khorasan, 13,028 in East Azerbaijan, 12,565 in Lorestan, 10,732 in Fars, 7686 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 7590 in Golestan, 7308 in Kerman, 6178 in Kermanshah, 5442 in Kurdistan, 5320 in Semnan, 5317 in Yazd, 4658 in Hormozgan, 4523 in North Khorasan, 2946 in South Khorasan, and 2494 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad. “The number of people hospitalized in Tehran is increasing at an alarming rate and it is certain that the capital will be registered as a red zone. The Health Ministry announced there are 63 red zone cities, 184 orange, and 201 yellow,” according to a Tuesday report wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“Based on what I have witnessed many older patients have contracted Covid-19 in vaccination lines. None of the Iranian vaccines have approval from the World Health Organization and only Iran Barekat has been registered in the WHO website. However, they have not filed for approval… I wouldn’t be surprised to soon witness a fifth peak,” said Masoud Mardani, a senior member of National Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday, according to the regime’s Shafina news agency.

“Little by little we will be entering the fifth wave,” said the governor of Tehran province on Tuesday. Alireza Raisi, head of the National Covid-19 Task Force, said on Tuesday that other than the towns of Firuzkuh and Damavand that are red zones, most of the cities and towns across Tehran province are orange zones. “We need to take this seriously that the cities and towns of Tehran province will be turning red in the coming weeks. We have had the highest number of coronavirus deaths in the north and southwest areas of Tehran,” he added, according to the state-run Arya website.

“Coronavirus has turned into a horrific tragedy and the province is unable to confront this issue. Is it not painful to hear that our fellow compatriots are dying due to shortages in oxygen and ventilators? Shouldn’t a province that is facing threats from its international borders be in priority for vaccination?” said a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) from the city of Iranshahr in Sistan & Baluchistan province on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“From two weeks ago the number of new cases has risen in an explosive manner. We have 1200 new cases per day,” said the dean of Zahedan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the regime’s Salamat News outlet.

During the past 24 hours alone 573 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized, of which 133 were transferred to ICUs, said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

In Fars province the beginning of the fifth coronavirus peak has been announced for one or two days, and four cities and towns in the southern areas of this province are registered as red and hyper red zones. The hospitals are being packed with new patients. “Our province is on the verge of entering a critical and chronic crisis,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the IRGC Quds Force-linked Tasnim news agency.
