“The decreasing trend is extremely slow and has its ups and downs. There are even days that we have numbers rising in comparison to the day before. This is not good, and it indicates that this illness is completely active in Tehran,” said Nader Tavakoli, deputy chair of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force, on Sunday. “Currently, we have around 4,000 people hospitalized in the city of Tehran, with 600 to 900 being hospitalized on a daily basis. Anyhow, we are having a new wave. The number of new cases per day trends between 4000 to 5500. The most effective element that can help out in the three months of this summer is to increase the vaccination effort,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Most of the hospital beds allocated for Covid-19 patients and also all the ICUs are full of patients and the status quo is extremely concerning,” said the head of Bu-Ali Hospitali in the city of Zahedan on Sunday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

The governor of Sistan & Baluchistan province expressed concern over the increasing rise of new patients, especially in Zahedan, and forecasts indicate stats will rise in the coming days. All hospitals, including public and private centers, are on high alert, according to a Sunday report wired by the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The Indian variant spreading like fire in our neighboring provinces, such as Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Bushehr, and Kerman. Considering the commuting between these provinces, we need to be exceptionally careful about the next peak,” said the deputy governor of Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad province on Saturday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“We are witnessing an increase in the number of new cases due to the elections campaign events and we neighboring the provinces of Hormozgan, Bushehr, and Sistan & Baluchistan,” said the governor of Kerman province on Sunday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

In Isfahan province the number of new patients hospitalized for Covid-19 remains higher than the number of patients released. “During the past 24 hours 182 individuals have been hospitalized while during this same period 146 were released,” said the spokesperson of the Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the Mehr news agency.

Spokesperson of the Yazd Medical Sciences University said on Sunday that the number of people being hospitalized for coronavirus remains on the rise. “During the past 24 hours 134 such patients have received medical treatment and we currently have 330 patients hospitalized, of which 69 are in ICUs,” this official added, according to the Mehr news agency.
