While as a results of the regime’s inhumane policies only an exceedingly small percentage of the people in Iran have been vaccinated, regime President Hassan Rouhani once again resorted to preposterous remarks.

“We will have at least five indigenous vaccines…  We are now among the countries who have made their own vaccines… In a few months we will even be able to export, meaning having enough for our domestic needs and exporting,” Rouhani said on Saturday. “This Nowruz (Persian calendar new year back in March) we did not have many problems. The UK strain caused us some issues… We are now facing the Indian variant and we will be facing a new virus in the future,” he added.

“We currently have 22 red cities, 175 orange and 251 yellow cities. The red cities are mainly in the provinces of Bushehr, Sistan & Baluchistan, Kerman, and Hormozgan,” said Alireza Raisi, spokesperson of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past week we had an average of 9616 new cases per day while the week before it was 8287. The number of red cities is rising gradually,” according to a Saturday report published by the state-run Arman daily.

“All the new cases are of the UK variant and [Sistan & Baluchistan] province is currently above the warning conditions. We are concerned about accepting new patients,” said the deputy dean of Zahedan Medical Sciences University on Saturday. “The highest number of new cases per day in the previous peak was 300. However, the current peak we are seeing 700 new cases per day. During the next one or two days all our hospital beds will be filled with patients,” this official added, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“Today we had 195 new coronavirus patients hospitalized. This was the highest such figure since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently we have 669 coronavirus patients hospitalized and 10,034 patients resting in their homes,” said the spokesperson of Hormozgan Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“Considering the elections campaign events, we are forecasting a new peak to emerge in seven to ten days after the elections,” said the dean of Behbahan Medical Sciences University in Khuzestan province on Saturday, according to the regime’s official IRIB news agency.

“The southern and eastern areas of the province remain fragile. Three cities are registered as red zones and 11 cities are orange. The number of people hospitalized for coronavirus has increased from 720 to 800,” said the deputy dean of Kerman Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours we had 102 new coronavirus patients hospitalized. Currently we have 307 such patients hospitalized across the province,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
