The regime’s Health Ministry spokesperson announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers on Saturday as an unprecedented 9450 new cases in the past 24 hours and 5506 in ICUs.

“The highest number of positive cases hospitalized in the past week are in this order: the provinces of Yazd, Semnan, South Khorasan and Semnan. The average of these provinces is significantly higher than the country’s average. The average weekly death toll reported last week across the country was around 36 in each one million people. The highest numbers were from the provinces of Yazd, South Khorasan and West Azerbaijan,” said the spokesperson for the regime’s Health Ministry on Saturday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

The coronavirus crisis has engulfed the country and even the regime’s own officials are voicing strong criticism about why Tehran and many other cities are not shut down. All the while, regime President Hassan Rouhani once again placed the blame on the people. “The problem we are facing is with family gatherings and get-togethers. The nights are longer, and these gatherings are increasing in numbers. That is why we have issued orders for evaluations to be carried out this week. If there are any regulations needed, we will be approving them,” he said on Saturday.

“Tehran is in extremely poor conditions when it comes to Covid-19. Six thousand coronavirus patients in private and government are hospitalized in the capital and 3,000 are in ICUs, indicating that in the coming days we will be facing a new rise in the death count. Last Thursday, 173 Covid-19 deaths were registered in the Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery,” said Nahid Khodakarami, head of the Tehran City Council Health Committee on Saturday, according to the IRGC-linked Fars news agency.

“All eyes are on the U.S. elections. However, I hope the President and government officials find the time to look at Thursday’s Covid-19 death stats. They might be convinced that Tehran needs to be shut down,” said Tehran City Council spokesperson Ali Aata on Saturday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the IRGC Quds Force news agency.

According to the official IRNA news agency, the public relations manager of the Covid-19 Task Force in Razavi Khorasan province said on Saturday, “Eight counties in the province are now in black conditions. The number of cases and deaths and hospitalized patients in these counties are increasing, and hospitals are in special conditions.”

On Friday, the public relations managers of Fars Medical Sciences University said, “Yesterday was a bitter day, and 37 of our province’s citizens lost their lives. The total number of coronavirus deaths in Fars has reached 1,612.” (Source: state television)

The Medical Sciences University of Qazvin province declared on Saturday, “In the past 24 hours, the number of critical patients who are under ventilator support was 48, and 11 people lost their lives. The total number of deaths in Qazvin since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak has reached 832.” (Source: Fars News Agency, November 7)

According to a report by the semi-official ISNA news agency, the head of the Nurses Organization in Markazi province said on Saturday, “There’s a severe shortage of nurses. Since summer, the government has time and again promised to add nurses, but no action has been taken. Our nurses are losing their motivation and our hospitals can’t treat these many patients. Before the Covid-19 outbreak, Markazi province was faced with a shortage of 2,000 nurses, and under the current circumstances, in which a portion of the nursing staff have contracted Covid-19 and others have been eliminated from the treatment cycle, this shortage will be even more intense.”

The same report quoted the president of the nursing office of Arak Medical Sciences University as saying, “Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, 410 nurses have contracted this disease and have been removed from the treatment cycle. The shortage of nurses, the stressful work, and the increasing number of Covid-19 cases and deaths… have all decreased the morale of the nurses and is affecting their performance.”
