The regime’s Health Ministry spokesperson announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers on Monday as an unprecedented 337 deaths, which is more than twice the record of the first wave (158 deaths on April 4) and around 1.5 times the record of the second wave (235 deaths on July 28), according to a Monday report wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi has called for a continuation of restrictions until the virus is completely controlled. “Based on the numbers that will be published in the coming days, we are requesting for harsher measures,” he said on Monday, according to IRNA, forecasting even higher death tolls in the near future.

“Conditions in Tehran are very dire. 5300 patients are hospitalized in Tehran which is disastrous in our opinion. We don’t have empty beds for our patients and our medical staff in the hospitals are under extreme pressure,” said the deputy chair of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Monday. “There are many chronic patients and we have more chronic patients than ordinary Covid-19 patients. And of course, the number of our discharges have decreased. All these factors indicate that we need to be thinking of more restrictions for the city,” he added, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“Conditions around the country are extremely poor and our death toll is around 300 per day. The number of new cases per day have reached around 5,000 people. In Tehran alone we have around 150 deaths per day,” said the Tehran City Council chair on Monday, according to the state-run Vatane Emruz daily.

According to the official IRNA news agency, Alireza Zali, the head of the National Coronavirus Task Force, said on Monday, “In recent days, we’re still witnessing a rise in the number of hospitalized cases, incoming patients, and Covid-19. In the third peak, we’ve seen new developments, including patients in more critical conditions. The duration of hospitalization has increased in comparison to the first and second peaks. The number of patients directly taken from emergency to ICU has also increased. 20-25 percent of daily incoming patients need special care since their entrance. Today, we wrote a letter to the health minister and requested that for next weeks holiday, they consider restrictions and fines on traveling.”

Payam Tabarsi, the head of infectious diseases at Tehran’s Masih Daneshvari hospital, said, “Among the staff, there are people who have not been able to return to work due to the Covid-19 situation. The conditions of the hospital are not good at all, and the number of hospitalized patients and detahs has increased. We are in fact in the worst situation, and we just hope it doesn’t get worse.” (Source: ILNA, October 19)

The dean of Kurdistan Medical Sciences University said on Monday, “In recent days, we’ve seen many patients who are in critical conditions and need to be immediately need to be transferred to ICU. Given the current trend of the spread of the virus, we will run out of beds to hospitalize patients in the province in the next few weeks.” (Source: IRNA, October 19)

According to the regime’s official broadcaster, IRIB, the caretaker of Alborz Medical Sciences University said on Monday, “With 18 more Covid-19 deaths in Alborz, the total number of casualties has reached 1,445. Since yesterday, 127 new Covid-19 patients have been hospitalized in the province’s medical centers. We currently have 792 hospitalized patients.”
