Fires erupting in various parts of Iran

Reported by PMOI/MEK

Iran, June 7, 2019 – Numerous reports of fires are received from cities and areas across Iran.

On Thursday night, a massive fire erupted in the forests and mountainous areas near the city of Behbahan, southwest Iran. “Access to the fire-hit areas is difficult due to the rough terrain,” said the regime-appointed city mayor. The fires are reportedly spreading and reports indicate the blaze could have been started due to lightning.

Head the Department of Environment in the Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmed Province, southwest Iran, says more 410,000 hectares of forests and hilltops have been wiped out in fires.

“We have been asking for help as we are using very primitive assets to put out these massive fires… We are still attempting to have a helicopter dispatched to the fire-hit area,” he said.

On Friday, the regime-appointed mayor in the city of Izeh, also in southwest Iran, also reported a large fire in the hilltops near the city.

Other reports from Khuzestan Province indicate fires in the Mangasht mountain area starting Thursday evening and destroying many forests. High winds fueled the fires’ advances.

The Fars news agency, affiliated to the terrorist-designated Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), reported on Friday saying widespread fires were also reported in a port in the city of Asaluyeh, Bushehr Province, southern Iran. Four docks were on fire in this incident and the blazes were only contained when the local fire service intervened.

Furthermore, on Wednesday afternoon local time, tar containers exploded and erupted in flames in Rajaie port of Bandar Abbas, southern Iran. The fire spread to tar and oil storage areas. One security guard was killed due to a flying object after the explosion.
