Fear of eminent downfall rattling Iran’s regime

Analysis by PMOI/MEK

Iran, May 4, 2019 – Listening to an array of Iran regime’s officials, be it Friday prayer sermons, military commanders or even the lame duck supreme leader himself, one can clearly hear the sounds of fear over the possibility of being overthrown resonating in every word, warning, and directives.

The commander of the Iranian regime army on Wednesday warned of “imminent” threats facing the mullahs and called on all forces under his command to be ready for possible attacks that could take place any day or night, emphasizing his forces should practice war games constantly.

“The threats today are imminent. Of course, these threats are not ground base in the beginning, but our ground forces, as the main axis of all operations, must hold their readiness,” Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said.

“All forces must engage their troops in constant war games with the mindset of being ready in the face of a night attack,” he added.

One step retreat, ten steps advance by the enemy

In response to the failed trip of Iranian regime Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to the U.S. seeking to open a channel of some kind of dialogue with Washington, Tehran’s Friday prayer imam Ahmad Khatami lashed out against Zarif in harsh criticism.

“Dialogue is surrender, and surrender is a disgrace,” he said while resorting to his usual hollow threats against the U.S. “We are facing a mad man. If we take one step back, they take ten steps forward…”

Khatami revealed his utter fear of being overthrown by the people and called for further internet censorship.

“It is time Iran’s internet officials learn that this channel, as it is now, would only hurt the system and has no benefits for us,” Khatami said.

Khamenei: The enemy is positioning for war

Iranian regime Supreme leader Ali Khamenei on Wednesday addressed a group of the regime’s cronies under the pretext of “teachers,” displaying his utter fear of the critical situation his regime is stuck in.

He told his audience that the “enemy” is “positioning” for economic, political, intelligence infiltration and even cyberspace war.

“Today, our enemy is getting prepared for a battle from all angles. I mean they are attacking now, not just being in preparation of an attack, an attack in progress. We could see that against our economy, in the area of intelligence to infiltrate, even in cyberspace,” Khamenei told his cronies.

He warned his forces they must be ready “in any units” and “in any field” they are.

Iranian regime Friday prayers are known as a ground for parroting Khamenei’s comments after the regime’s supreme leader told a group of the so-called “teachers” that the enemy is taking a “battle formation.”

One such Friday payer imam is Ahmad Alamalhoda in Mashhad, northeastern Iran, the ignorant and illiterate mullah as he is known to the Iranian people.

During his sermon on Friday, Alamalhoda attempted to clarify Khamenei’s comments about the so-called “enemy” taking a “battle formation,” saying the supreme leader meant the “youth” who, as he put it, are stepping all over the regime.

“Khamenei emphasized that we are facing the enemy’s battle formation in the fields of politics, economics, and the internet. This was not a mere gesture or an instruction, it was an order to all regime apparatus, the government, the judiciary, Majlis (parliament) directors and etc… to also establish battle formation against them,” the Alamalhoda added.

Battle formation against the vibrant Iranian youth

“This battle formation is referring to the inside of the country and is against the rebellious youth,” he said specifically.

“Be aware, Americans and the British who are taking battle formation against us is not like they bring their soldiers into Iran or even their bombers to bomb us from the skies. What we mean by taking battle formation is with forces inside the country that use to raise against our revolution. They are investing in a generation that is rallying in the streets,” Alamalhoda reiterated.

Emphasizing the “battle formation” mentality, Khamenei’s representative in Mashhad called on workers, laborers, teachers, farmers and every sector of the society who come to the streets on a daily basis to “get back their rights, to put away their demands of rights and keep into consideration that “the country is at war, an economic war. Forget about job benefits in the factories. Today, everybody has to play a role to counter the enemy…”

The final thought

What one can interpret from all these talks of enemy and battle formation is the general fear brewing among the regime’s elite. The regime is rightly fearing an all-out revolt by the people, especially after the effects of international pressures from the U.S. sanctions, IRGC FTO listing, the regime’s inability to deal with the flood crisis in the country, the nosedive devaluation of the currency, unemployment, inflation, and so many other crises tightening the noose around the regime’s neck. All of these are tearing the regime apart and, on the other hand, providing hope to the people that the days of this regime are soon coming to an end.

As regime officials are acknowledging, the real enemy of this backward-minded extremist mullahs’ regime are the people and their organized resistance led by the PMOI/MEK and its President-elect Maryam Rajavi.
