F-5 fighter jet crashes in Dezful, southwest Iran

Reported by PMOI/MEK

Iran, August 27, 2018 – An Iranian regime F-5 fighter jet crashed on Sunday morning in southwest city of Dezful and the pilot was killed on the spot, reports indicate.

The state-run Mehr news agency on Sunday said Col. Manuchehr Fattahi’s fighter jet suffered a technical difficulty during landing and crashed at the Dezful 4th Airbase.

“Manuchehr Fattahi was killed during this test flight of a repaired fighter jet at the Dezful airbase,” said Dezful mayor Isazadeh.

The fighter jets used by the air force under the mullahs’ command are very old and literally out of service in all other countries. The F-5 is a fighter jet made in the United States that dates back to the 1970s.

International isolation has forced the Iranian regime to continue using these fighter jets after 40 years and has no choice but to smuggle its spare parts at enormous expenses.

It is worth noting that the mullahs’ regime went the distance claiming its “experts” were successful in manufacturing an indigenous fighter jet dubbed the “Kowsar.”

As this became an embarrassment with revelations indicating the Kowsar is nothing but a replica of the old U.S.-made F-5, the Iranian regime’s state-run Tasnim news agency, linked to the Revolutionary Guards Quds Force, claimed the Kowsar is “very similar to the U.S. F-5, and it should be noted that the Kowsar is a heavy improvement of the F-5 blueprint, made possible by Iran’s Defense Ministry.”

This further shows the desperate nature of Iran’s regime to save face as domestic and international crises continue to escalate.
