Fire answers execution: Iran’s youth turn regime’s terror into a beacon of defiance

In a heinous act of state-sanctioned murder, the clerical regime in Iran executed political prisoners and PMOI members Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani on July 27, 2025. This was a desperate and calculated act of terror by the regime, aimed at intimidating a restless population and blocking the path of a growing uprising. But this brutal miscalculation has failed. Instead of silencing dissent, the regime’s crime has ignited a nationwide firestorm of retribution, led by Iran’s courageous rebellious youth who have made it clear that terror will be met with unwavering defiance.

An immediate and sustained wave of retribution

The response from the youth was not only powerful but also immediate, demonstrating that the regime’s intimidation tactics are losing their grip. On Monday, July 28, a mere day after the executions, rebellious youth launched a coordinated campaign, striking at the regime’s centers of suppression and repression with 20 fiery responses. The momentum did not stop there. The following day, on Tuesday, July 29, youth in Ahvaz sent a clear and symbolic message by setting fire to a regime center for torture and executions, boldly declaring that “Fire answers execution.” The campaign for justice continued into a third day, with another 15 heroic operations on Wednesday, July 30, targeting the core pillars of the regime’s power across the country.

Targeting the symbols of oppression and corruption

The strategic nature of these attacks shows a sophisticated and determined resistance. The new wave of activities systematically target the symbols of the regime’s tyranny. In cities from Sepidan to Tehran and Mashhad, youth carried out incendiary attacks against repressive security bases, Basij student suppression centers, and hubs of state-sanctioned crime.

They struck at the regime’s financial and ideological centers, including the plundering Khomeini foundation in Meshkinshahr. In a direct challenge to the regime’s intelligence apparatus, they set fire to signboards for IRGC and Intelligence Ministry espionage headquarters in Zahedan and Kerman. Across Tehran, Mashhad, Rudbar, and other cities, images of Khomeini, Khamenei, Ebrahim Raisi, and the terrorist commander Qassem Soleimani were set ablaze, a clear rejection of the regime’s illegitimate rule.

The martyrs’ legacy fuels the fight for freedom

The regime murdered Behrouz Ehsani, 69, and Mehdi Hassani, 48, for their unwavering belief in a free and democratic Iran. Subjected to severe torture and a sham trial where their lawyer was denied access to case files, their spirit remained unbroken. In a powerful final message, Behrouz Ehsani declared, “I will not bargain with anyone over my life and am ready to sacrifice my life for the cause of the liberation of the Iranian people.”

The regime believed it could extinguish the hope for freedom by killing these heroes. Instead, they became eternal symbols whose legacy is now being carried forward by a generation that refuses to be silenced. The flames of defiance lit by Iran’s rebellious youth are the living embodiment of these martyrs’ sacrifice, and they signal that the fight for a free Iran will only grow stronger.
