IAEA report exposes the undeniable truth that Iran’s regime cannot be trusted

The international community has reached a critical juncture regarding the Iranian regime’s nuclear program. Following a damning report and remarks by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi on June 9, any lingering hope that the clerical regime’s nuclear ambitions are peaceful has been definitively shattered.

The comprehensive evidence laid before the IAEA’s Board of Governors paints a grim and undeniable picture: the regime in Tehran operates on a foundation of deception, is actively concealing a military nuclear program, and is accumulating enriched uranium at a level that constitutes a grave threat to global peace and security.

The evidence is a clear indictment. The world can no longer afford to engage in wishful thinking or pursue policies of appeasement. The regime’s word is worthless, and its actions speak to a singular, sinister goal.

A pattern of deception and stonewalling

For years, the Iranian Resistance has warned that deception is the cornerstone of the mullahs’ nuclear strategy. The IAEA’s latest findings now officially corroborate this reality. The agency has identified man-made uranium particles at three undeclared locations in Iran—Varamin, Marivan, and Turquzabad—and has been met with a wall of denial and obstruction. According to Director General Grossi, the regime “has repeatedly either not answered, or not provided technically credible answers to, the Agency’s questions.” Worse, it has actively tried to “sanitize the locations, which has impeded Agency verification activities.”

This has left critical questions unanswered. If there was uranium, where is it? If there was equipment, where is it? The regime’s silence is an admission of guilt.

This pattern of duplicity goes beyond mere stonewalling. In a stunning revelation, the IAEA confirmed it has “conclusive evidence of highly confidential documents belonging to the Agency having been actively collected and analysed by Iran.” This act of espionage against the very body meant to monitor it demonstrates a profound contempt for international law. As Mr. Grossi stated, such an action “is not compatible with the spirit of cooperation.” The conclusion is inescapable: the regime cannot be trusted to cooperate in good faith, and until it provides complete and truthful answers, the IAEA has made its position clear. “Unless and until Iran assists the Agency in resolving the outstanding safeguards issues,” Grossi declared, “the Agency will not be in a position to provide assurance that Iran’s nuclear programme is exclusively peaceful.”

The alarming dash towards a nuclear bomb

The regime’s obstruction is designed to hide a terrifying truth: it is dangerously close to a nuclear weapon. The IAEA report confirms that Tehran has stockpiled over 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% purity. This level of enrichment has no plausible civilian justification. As Mr. Grossi bluntly explained, when a country accumulates this material at a level very close to what is necessary for a nuclear explosive device.

The IAEA has stated that this “rapid accumulation of highly enriched uranium… is of serious concern” and that, “given the potential proliferation implications, the Agency cannot ignore” it. This is not a new or accidental development. The agency’s assessment concludes that an “undeclared structured nuclear programme” existed in Iran until the early 2000s and that related “activities continued in a scattered and fragmented way” afterward. The current sprint toward weapon-grade material is the culmination of decades of clandestine work.

The international community must face the reality that the draft resolution proposed by the United States and the E3 (France, Germany, and the United Kingdom) is a necessary, but far from sufficient, step. Words of condemnation must be followed by decisive action. The time for negotiations based on the false premise of a peaceful program is over. The only path forward is a policy of maximum pressure that isolates the regime, supports the Iranian people and their organized Resistance, and dismantles the regime’s entire illicit nuclear infrastructure before it can hold the world hostage.
