“I am a soldier of General Radan. I proudly state that the Ministry of Education is fully at your service and supports your missions.” These nauseating words from Alireza Kazemi, the Minister of Education under regime president Masoud Pezeshkian, alongside the signing of a disgraceful memorandum of understanding with Ahmad Reza Radan, the notorious commander of the Iranian regime’s State Security Forces (FARAJA), betray the regime’s terror of Iran’s young generation and students. Radan also brazenly stated, “We must not overlook the mafia that kidnaps students’ thoughts. (The enemy)… hijacks the minds of our students.” These words are not a sign of authority but an admission of deep fear of the coming uprising.
The participation of Iran’s Gen Z, students, and youth in the 2022 uprising turned the regime’s nightmare into reality. The flames of that uprising still flicker in the streets, and the oppressive regime trembles in fear of another volcanic eruption of protest.
What terrifies the regime is the youth’s adoption of the “fire answers fire” strategy against the regime’s repressive forces, who either gunned down many of their comrades in the streets or sent them to the gallows, like the executed protester Mohsen Shekari.
While Iran’s rebellious youth, by expanding their anti-repression operations against the centers of the IRGC, Basij militia, and the oppressive judiciary, keep the banner of uprising raised, the regime fears a storm that these rebellious youth will unleash on the streets. The regime is trying to neutralize this threat by deploying repressive police forces into schools, and loyalists like Radan and Kazemi claim they share a single “mission”: the “security” of the regime.
The MoU between the Ministry of Education and the State Security Forces, designed to suppress students and control the school environment, includes ten shameful commitments: from cooperation in repressive police plans to training students for espionage and aligning with the regime, and even establishing police stations within schools. The state-run newspaper Ham-Mihan wrote, “Iranian students will now see police officers in schools as well.” These actions are a desperate attempt to turn schools into barracks and stifle the voices of a generation that has brought the regime to its knees. However, experience, as demonstrated by the 2022 uprising, shows that such repression only intensifies the anger of the young generation and becomes a spark for further uprisings.
On November 4, 1978, the Shah also opened fire on students to silence their voices, but on that very day, the slogan “Death to the Shah” resonated throughout Iran. Despite the fear and backwardness of Khomeini’s followers, revolutionary forces led the way and countered the shah regime’s repression with fire.
Today, the mullahs’ regime is walking the same path, oblivious to the fact that this disgraceful MoU will not stop the uprising but will instead serve as a spark for the next major explosion. The generation that set the streets ablaze in 2022, alongside the Resistance Units and with steel determination, is ready to send the regime to the graveyard of history. These actions are proof of the regime’s desperation and the certainty of its overthrow.
