PMOI Resistance Units mark new Iranian year with anti-regime activities

As part of a continued uprising against the regime of the Supreme Leader, PMOI Resistance Units launched a Nowruz campaign in time for Sizdah Bedar, the end of the Iranian New Year holidays. This campaign comprised dozens of activities in cities across the country, including Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Kermanshah, Hamedan, Gorgan, Ilam, Kashan, Ardabil, Dezful, and Lahijan. This campaign stood out due to the volume, diversity, and boldness of the operations—executed in the heart of highly surveilled cities.

Revolutionary Slogan Writing in City Centers

Dozens of acts of slogan writing were carried out on the walls of government institutions, security centers, religious buildings, as well as marketplaces and schools. The slogans included:

  • “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader”
  • “Religious dictatorship must go – freedom is coming”
  • “No to the crown, no to the turban – freedom and equality”
  • “Khamenei we will bury you”

These slogans appeared boldly in high-traffic areas of Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz, cities under intense regime surveillance—demonstrating the Resistance Units’ courage and capability to penetrate the security net.

Distribution of Political Leaflets in Neighborhoods

Extensive distribution of leaflets took place in residential areas such as Hamedan, Gorgan, and Ilam. These materials directly invited people to join the resistance and uplifted public spirit with slogans like:

  • “This Nowruz marks the celebration of change and revolution”
  • “Every martyr is a ticking clock counting down to the regime’s fall”
  • “Iran has everything it needs for freedom – all that’s needed is to rise up”

The leaflets also featured images of Iranian resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

Displaying Resistance Leaders’ Images in Public Spaces

In cities such as Dezful, Lahijan, Kashan, and Ardabil, Resistance Units hung large portraits of Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi with slogans such as:

  • “The democratic alternative is real – the revolution continues”
  • “Rajavi is the voice of freedom against tyranny”
  • “With Maryam Rajavi, we march toward a free and just Iran”

This sent a powerful message: the opposition is organized, present, and ready to lead the nation beyond both the Shah and the mullahs.

Through the Nowruz campaigns, PMOI Resistance Units aim to achieve multiple strategic objectives. First, they seek to shatter the climate of fear enforced by the regime by conducting bold operations in broad daylight at sensitive locations—proving that the regime’s grip is not invincible. Second, they strive to disseminate the message of democratic resistance among the public by writing slogans, distributing materials, and showcasing the leadership of the Resistance. This demonstrates that a viable alternative to the regime exists, embodied in the NCRI. A third goal is to revive hope among the Iranian people, reminding them that Nowruz is not just a seasonal festival but a moment for political and social renewal. Lastly, the campaign aims to organize and channel public anger into active resistance, moving beyond spontaneous frustration toward structured, purposeful rebellion. The Resistance Units affirm that toppling the Supreme Leader’s regime is not a dream but a concrete plan already being executed on the ground, and that 1404 (2025) is not merely a new calendar year but the beginning of a new chapter of freedom—without crown, without turban.
