Iran’s rebellious youth support retirees’ protests, target regime centers

On Monday, January 13, retired telecom and education workers once again took to the streets in Tehran, Ahvaz, Ilam, Isfahan, Shiraz, Shahrekord, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Marivan, and Urmia. They chanted against the injustices and corruption of the regime. The retired telecom workers, continuing the movement from the previous week, protested against the looting by the Execution of Khomeini’s Order (EIKO or Setad Ejraiye Farman-e Emam) and the plundering cooperative of the IRGC. Their chants included: “Shout, shout, against all this injustice,” and “The IRGC has eaten our rights.”

On Tuesday, January 7, Iran’s rebellious youth, in solidarity with the uprising of retired educators and telecom workers protesting their trampled rights by the plundering clerics, launched attacks on the oppressive and exploitative centers of the corrupt regime, targeting regime buildings, the Khomeini foundation, regime symbols, and IRGC Basij bases:

  • Three arson attacks at a regime building in District 4 in Tehran
  • Two arson attacks at a regime building in District 5 in Mashhad
  • An arson attack at the corrupt Khomeini Foundation headquarters in Isfahan
  • Burning a Qasem Soleimani billboard at the Sayyad Shirazi Highway bridge in Tehran
  • Burning a banner of Ebrahim Raisi on the Ferdows Bridge in Karaj
  • Burning an IRGC Basij base in Kerman
  • Burning an IRGC Basij base in Lordegan
  • Burning a Khomeini mural in Masjed Soleyman
  • Burning a Soleimani banner in Kerman
  • Burning a billboard belonging to the IRGC intelligence department in Bojnord

On Monday, January 6, retired educators in Tehran stood up against the regime’s corruption and the symbols of arrogance and hypocrisy of the clerics. Their chants included:

  • “We survive on blood-soaked morsels – our livelihood is in the dragon’s jaws”
  • “Cry out against all this arrogance and hypocrisy”
  • “Shout, shout, against all this injustice”
  • “With all these resources, how is Iran in ruins?”
  • “Oh justice, strike down injustice”

On the same day (January 6), retired telecom workers in Isfahan took a bold step in social protests, unleashing fiery anger against the looters of the EIKO and IRGC. Their slogans included:

  • “EIKO has taken telecom and stolen our rights”
  • “… The IRGC has taken telecom and stolen our rights”

And here are some of the slogans chanted by retired telecom workers in Zanjan, Kermanshah, Tehran, and other cities:

  • “Oppressive shareholders have stolen our rights”
  • “Retirement pay only lasts one week”
  • ” EIKO has stolen our rights”
  • “Retirees, shout out, demand your rights”
  • “The government betrays, the parliament supports”
  • “Unity, unity against tyranny and corruption”
  • “Shout, shout, against all this injustice”
  • “No nation has ever seen such injustice”
  • “We fight, we stay, we will reclaim our rights”
  • “Our rights can only be achieved in the streets”

This righteous anger and these powerful and meaningful slogans against the corrupt regime reflect the deep awareness, vigilance, and readiness of the retirees to reclaim their stolen rights, as well as those of other laborers and the oppressed plundered by the regime and the criminal IRGC.

In the kleptocratic regime of the mullahs, the vast majority of the Iranian population, especially workers, laborers, and retirees, face dire living conditions, economic crises, and governmental corruption. In their protests, they rightfully chant: “One less embezzlement and our problems will be solved!”

As the clerical dictatorship sinks into the mire of its own corruption and crimes, protesters increasingly take to the streets to demand their trampled rights. With slogans that reflect their firm resolve and deep awareness, they challenge the ruling plunderers. And they can rely on Iran’s rebellious youth to make sure their voices are heard and acted upon.
