The Iranian resistance has constantly stressed that the religious fascism ruling Iran requires incites crises and wars beyond Iran’s borders to ensure its survival. The world witnesses another episode of the Iranian regime’s warmongering as the war escalates in Gaza and the horrifying casualties of civilians continue to rise. While wounded consciences are inflamed by the horrors of war, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei and his agents rejoice and eagerly fuel this crisis as much as they can.
Now, politicians are warning that another war is on the horizon in the Middle East, and the fingerprints of the Iranian regime are evident throughout.
Tehran’s need to spread war
The question that arises is whether the regime is unaware that engaging in warmongering anywhere in the Middle East or the world will eventually backfire at itself. In response to this paradox, we need to highlight the parameters that make warmongering imperative for the mullahs’ regime.
The mullahs’ regime relies on three key factors to stay in power. This regime diverts international attention from these three alarming issues and ignites the flames of war in Gaza while defending its expansion:
- Systematic human rights violations
- Sponsorship of terrorism and destabilizing activities in the region
- Advancement of its ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons programs
Systematic human rights violation manifests itself, among other things, in domestic suppression within Iran. During the series of nationwide uprisings in Iran, it became evident that if this regime were to cease its repression for even a day, it would be swept away by the people.
Sponsorship of terrorism and destabilizing activities in the region is an integral part of the regime’s strategy. This regime has institutionalized it through the establishment of the IRGC and the Quds Force, its terrorist arm. It allocates astronomical funds to support these activities. Proxy forces under its command have emerged in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and Iraq to address this need.
The ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons programs are also instrumental in serving the regime’s dual objectives of suppression and sponsorship of terrorism. As a result, this regime is not a “partner for peace,” but rather a malignant force spreading destruction, death, and chaos.
The diplomatic efforts of European countries and the United States to curb the regime’s provocative transgression have always been accompanied by turning a blind eye on the regime’s malignant activities instead of holding the despotic leaders of the regime accountable. The disastrous consequences of this soft approach are evident in the bleak human rights situation in Iran and the unstable situation in the region.
The Iranian Solution
The question that may arise next is whether the solution to containing this regime lies in igniting the flames of a foreign war in Iran? Does a firm policy require such a solution?
Absolutely not. The Iranian people have all they need in their organized resistance movement, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), a coalition of opposition forces who are committed to regime change in Iran and the establishment of a democratic republic. In other words, there is an Iranian solution to confront the threats emanating from the Tehran regime.
An Iranian solution is the best sustainable and decisive solution to combat religious fascism. This resistance and democratic alternative, led by the NCRI, is anti-theocratic fundamentalism at the helm of the ruling regime.
A firm policy
The first step to any firm policy toward Iran’s regime is to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization. The IRGC is the main tool for the regime for expanding terrorism and waging war across the world. The world must double down on sanctions against the regime to prevent it from funding its terrorist activities.
But a firm policy also requires endorsing the alternative to the regime, which is the people of Iran and their resistance movement. The people of Iran have shown time and again that they do not want this regime. And their resistance movement has proved throughout the decades that it has the will and dedication to realize this goal. The world must endorse the Iranian people’s right to resist the regime and reclaim their freedom.
That is the first step to restore peace and stability in the region.
