Iran coronavirus update: Over 480,200 deaths, provinces report stats above national average

Over 480,200 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Tuesday afternoon local time, November 23. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 129,177, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 112,545 in Tehran, 39,150 in Razavi Khorasan, 32,880 in Isfahan, 17,953 in West Azerbaijan, 17,855 in Fars, 17,520 in Mazandaran, 16,593 in East Azerbaijan, 13,345 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 13,000 in Qom, 8768 in Markazi (Central), 6098 in North Khorasan, 6030 in Ardabil, and 5509 in Qazvin. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Tuesday as 132 deaths and 5144 new cases. Furthermore, 3386 patients are in ICUs and 762 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“The unbridled re-openings of schools, universities and various centers, restaurants, cinemas, and… considering the fact that we have yet to reach heard immunity and that vaccination among our children has not reached the desired percentage, this can result in dangerous outcomes and lead to the next peak for us,” said a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Fifteen percent of the students in one middle school tested positive after their school reopened,” according to a statement released by the Lorestan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday.

“The re-opening of schools and universities, normalization among our officials and the general public, a decrease in the level of restrictions and preventive measures all place our country in the face of a certain threat. Each rise in coronavirus numbers leads to the death of thousands of our compatriots. Hospitalized children have both lost their parents and the chance to receive education,” according to a piece published on Tuesday in the state-run Asr-e Iran daily.

“For the third consecutive day the number of daily cases increased by 53.34 percent and those hospitalized by 36.36 percent. This can result in problems in the coming weeks… and lead to major issues for the country,” according to a Tuesday piece wired by the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“The possibility of the lambda variant entering Kermanshah province is high. Considering the reopening of schools and closed areas during the winter season, the spread of this virus can be quite dangerous,” said the deputy dean of Kermanshah Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“In the past week, the number of people being hospitalized and the death toll in [Yazd] province has gone above the national average,” according to a report published by the state-run Khabar Online website on Tuesday.

“We currently have 377 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 93 are in ICUs. Furthermore, in the past 24 hours 195 new Covid-19 cases have been registered,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“During the past week, the death toll in [South Khorasan] province has escalated. The number of people being hospitalized has gone beyond the national average. This is also true about the death toll,” according to a report published by the state-run Khabar Online website on Tuesday.

During the past week in Kerman province, the number of people hospitalized has increased for the second consecutive week and the death toll has increased. These two figures are also above the national average, according to a report published by the state-run Khabar Online website on Tuesday.
