Iran, July 8, 2020—While Iranian regime officials admit the young generation wants regime change and voice concerns over the growing support for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the Iranian Resistance Units, an internal network of the MEK, expanded its activities in across the country in recent days.
From Sunday, July 5, to Tuesday, July 7, the Resistance Units organized activities in the cities of Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Babolsar, Khorramabad, Qom, Damavand, Rasht, Esfarayen, Behbahan, Babol, and Masouleh, calling for regime change and in support of the MEK.
They bravely took to graffiti in public places, writing messages of Iranian Resistance leaders and slogans against Iranian regime leader Ali Khamenei and regime president Hassan Rouhani.
Their slogans read:
“We can and we must overthrow the dictator”
“Down with Khamenei”
“Down with the principle of the Supreme Leader’s rule”
“Freedom and humanity will prevail in Iran”
“Freedom, justice and people’s sovereignty with Maryam Rajavi”
“Maryam Rajavi’s ten-point plan is the true vision of a free Iran”
“Maryam Rajavi, we are waiting for you, Iran Maryam, Maryam Iran”
“A free Iran with Maryam Rajavi”
On the same days, the brave and rebellious youth of Iran torched suppressive centers of the mullahs’ regime in different cities.
An IRGC Basij base in Qom was also torched by the defiant youth while a banner of Basij in Babolsar and images of founder Ruhollah Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei were burned in Tehran.
Basij is the most hated suppressive paramilitary force and a subsidiary of the terrorist-designated IRGC that is used to crack down on protests and demonstrations such as the November nationwide uprising.

Background
Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi based his strategy on “resistance units” inside Iran, with the objective of establishing units inside the society and forming a bond between the files of this revolution with the ranks seen in the central core of this movement, being the PMOI/MEK.
The PMOI/MEK and the organized Iranian Resistance movement are realizing the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime. The Iranian Resistance Units played a key role and had a major impact on nationwide uprisings of December 2017 and November 2019 that shook the Iranian regime in its entirety. This brave and young generation is an extension of the more than 120,000 MEK members who have sacrificed their lives for freedom in more than five decades and are realizing the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime.
These selfless, determined, and spirited men and women believe that the Iranian people’s fight against coronavirus is part of their fateful resistance against the mullahs’ regime and the inhuman clerical regime, and their mission is to establish freedom, democracy and popular sovereignty in Iran.
In the powder keg circumstances of Iran’s society, the MEK’s organized structure based on the Resistance Units activities is the most important force behind regime change in Iran.
Last month the Iranian Resistance Units spread their activities to more than 85 cities across the country.
Also, many Iranian officials and state media have acknowledged the leading role of the MEK Resistance Units in the Iran protests that began on November 15, 2019.
The head of the IRGC’s paramilitary Bassij force, Gholamreza Soleimani, said: “The MEK has cells (units) in our country. And in other countries, too, agents and the MEK who are tied to America damage the public’s interests.” (Tabnak website, November 18)
Ali Shamkhani, Secretary for the Supreme National Security Council: “I believe 34 MEK members have been arrested so far. A vast network of individuals, operating not under the MEK’s name, but pursuing their line and modus operandi were also identified.” (Defa’ Press, November 24, 2019)
