PMOI Resistance Units across Iran commemorate martyrs of May 2, 1982

In commemoration of PMOI members killed by the Iranian regime on May 2, 1982, Resistance Units in multiple Iranian cities — including Tehran, Karaj, Tabriz, Mashhad, Shiraz, Chalous, Neka, and Nourabad Mamasani (Fars Province) — launched symbolic actions to honor the memory of over 60 martyrs who fell heroically in an uneven battle against the regime’s vicious security forces.

The commemorative activities included banners, wall slogans, symbolic memorial tables, and portraits of the fallen commander Mohammad Zabeti and his comrades who resisted the regime’s forces to the last bullet.

Slogans displayed by the Resistance Units read:
– “May 2nd: A Glorious Uprising and an Enduring Lesson in Iran’s Contemporary History”
– “Salute to Commander Zabeti and the Mojahedin who stood and fought to the last bullet”
– “Martyrs of May 2 and 9, 1982 – Symbols of Sacrifice and Integrity”
– “We will neither forget nor forgive”
– “The May 2 uprising shattered the illusion of surrender before the regime”

Memorial tables in cities like Tehran, Karaj, and Mashhad featured pictures of the martyrs and statements calling for the continuation of their red path until the downfall of the regime and final victory.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, was quoted on posters: “The martyrs of May 2, 1982, are unforgettable heroes of the Iranian people… They proved that the Mojahedin never back down, and remain steadfast in their path of sacrifice.”

This statement resonated with citizens who viewed the commemorations as a strong affirmation of the historical continuity of resistance.

Historical Significance

On May 2, 1982, over 60 commanders and members of the PMOI confronted the IRGC in Tehran. The regime’s forces surrounded and outnumbered them, but they did not surrender and fought valiantly.

Led by senior PMOI member Mohammad Zabeti, these fighters resisted until their last breath, offering their lives in a decisive act of defiance. Their valor sent a shockwave through the regime and set an example for the generations of PMOI members that came after.

Through every slogan painted and every banner raised, the message was clear: the blood spilled on May 2, 1982, continues to nourish Iran’s modern resistance. The uprising is not a memory; it is a living flame that inspires today’s movement for freedom and justice.
