MEK supporters across the globe rally and condemn Iran’s regime

Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) have been holding regular rallies in three different cities across the globe during the past few weeks condemning the mullahs’ regime ruling Iran and calling on the international community to stand alongside the Iranian people and their organized resistance.

Vienna, Munich, Stockholm, and Vancouver were scenes of Iranian Resistance supporters gathering to condemn the theocracy ruling Iran for its human rights violations, support for terrorism, and clandestine nuclear weapons program. They also expressed their ongoing support and solidarity with the Iranian opposition coalition, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), as the democratic alternative to the medieval regime ruling Iran, and pledged to continue this struggle to overthrow the religious dictatorship in its entirety.

The demonstrators in Vienna and Munich, while emphasizing that the mullahs’ regime is buying time to acquire nuclear weapons, chanted slogans against the Iranian regime, in support of the NCRI and MEK, Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi.

Their chants included:
“With or without the JCPOA, the regime has no solution in sight!”
“All Iranians are shouting Death to Khamenei, Death to Raisi!” in reference to regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Ebrahim Raisi.
“Protesters are very active, and Iranians are proud!”
“First and last word, overthrow, overthrow!”
“The mullahs’ nuclear program is against the Iranian people’s interests!”
“With or without its nuclear program, the mullahs’ regime will be overthrown!”
“Rajavi yes, mullahs no! They’re terrorists and must go!”
“Death to the mullahs’ regime principle! Hail to the Resistance Units!”
“Until freedom is established in Iran, we will demand justice for our fallen colleagues!”
“Teachers, workers, the MEK support you!”
“The mullahs’ nuclear program has plunged people into poverty!”
“With Massoud and Maryam, we will continue the struggle for freedom!”

Freedom-loving Iranians and family members of the victims of the 1988 massacre in Iran have been rallying in Stockholm, calling on the international community to hold the mullahs’ regime accountable for their human rights violations and crimes against humanity.

They have been traveling from across Europe to gather in the subzero temperatures to voice their demands as an Iranian regime henchman, Hamid Noury, has been on trial for his role in the mass killings of 1988 of over 30,000 political prisoners, mostly PMOI/MEK members and supporters.

Their chants included:
“Teachers, college students, the MEK support you!”
“Raisi, you’re a criminal!”
“From 1988 to November 2019, we will continue to demand justice for those who have been killed!”
“Those who shake the mullahs’ hands are complicit in their crimes!”
“Four decades of crimes, death to the mullahs’ regime!”
“Jailed teachers must be released!”
“Death to Khamenei and Raisi! Damn with Khomeini!” in reference to the regime’s first Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini.
“Political prisoners must be released!”

Iranians and PMOI/MEK supporters rallied in Vancouver, Canada, calling on the international community to take meaningful action against the Iranian regime’s ongoing human rights violations.

Daring the bitter winter cold, the exiled Iranians at this gathering held banners and voiced the following demands:

– The Iranian regime must stand trial for crimes against humanity

– Stop torture and executions in Iran, adding that Iran under the mullahs’ regime has the highest number of executions per capita

– Free all political prisoners in Iran

These rallies across Europe follow a recent online conference on February 11 during which 50 bi-partisan Members of the United States House of Representatives called on the Biden administration to adopt a firm Iran policy and stand alongside the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom and democracy. The Organization of Iranian American Communities hosted the event marking the 43rd anniversary of Iran’s 1979 anti-monarchical revolution

While voicing their solidarity with the Iranian people, the representatives condemned the Iranian regime as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and criticized the current U.S. policy vis-à-vis the regime’s nuclear weapons program. The lawmakers also expressed their support for a democratic, secular, and non-nuclear republic in Iran.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi was the keynote speaker at the meeting during which she explained that the 1979 revolution began with the overthrow of the Shah and his “violent tyranny” and was hijacked by the mullahs ruling the country today.

“43 years ago, today, the Shah dictatorship was overthrown by the Iranian people’s nationwide uprising. The Iranian people revolted against a violent tyranny. They sought freedom and democracy. But since the Shah had practically destroyed all democratic movements, he paved the way for a reactionary mullah to take power,” Mrs. Rajavi said.

“Today, there is a democratic alternative that has a powerful social base. It has elevated the widespread social discontent toward a goal-oriented struggle to overthrow the regime in its entirety,” she added.

A look back at the past 12 months sheds light on the deepening conflict between Iranian people and their organized resistance seeking freedom on the one hand, and a weakening regime desperately trying to stay in power on the other.

Despite the regime’s crackdown and ongoing policy of appeasement by the West, the mullahs are terrified that Iranian people and the organized Resistance pose an existential threat to their survival.  And this is something the West cannot and should not ignore.
