Despite the clerical regime’s relentless repression, the flame of resistance burns brighter than ever across Iran. On July 11, PMOI Resistance Units in Zahedan took to the streets in a bold display of defiance, proving that the organized movement for a free Iran is not only active but expanding. Their actions are part of a growing wave of popular uprisings, sending an unmistakable message that the Iranian people’s determination to overthrow the religious dictatorship cannot be extinguished. As one of their placards declared, “The resistance of the Iranian people against the religious dictatorship is just and nothing can smother its flames.”

A clear message to the international community
Central to the Resistance Units’ message is the “Third Option,” a direct challenge to the international community’s long-standing but failed policy toward Tehran. For decades, global powers have been trapped in a false dichotomy: either appease the mullahs’ corrupt dictatorship or engage in a destructive foreign war.
The Iranian Resistance soundly rejects both. The placards in Zahedan powerfully articulated this stance: “Third Option: No to war, no to appeasement. Yes to regime change by the people and the Resistance.” This asserts that the only viable and just solution is one driven by the Iranian people themselves, emphasizing that regional peace is impossible without democratic change in Iran.

Defining the true conflict: the people versus the dictatorship
The regime consistently tries to manufacture external conflicts to distract from its domestic failures and justify its malign activities, including its pursuit of a nuclear bomb. However, the Resistance Units are successfully reframing the narrative to reflect the truth on the ground.
As they stated, “The real conflict in Iran has been ongoing for 44 years and it is between the people and the ruling religious dictatorship.” This slogan cuts through the regime’s propaganda, clarifying for the world that the main war is the one being waged by the people against their oppressors. Their resolve is absolute, as another message made clear: “Khamenei, with or without a nuclear bomb, will be overthrown.”

Rejecting all forms of tyranny
The Iranian people’s struggle is not merely to oust the current rulers, but to establish genuine freedom and democracy. The Resistance Units made it unequivocally clear that there is no appetite for replacing one dictatorship with another. Slogans like, “From Zahedan to Tehran, down with the oppressor, be it the Shah or the mullahs,” and “No to shah no to mullahs. Yes to freedom and a democratic republic,” echo the widespread sentiment of recent uprisings.
The message is simple: tyrants are tyrants, “whether they wear a crown or a turban,” and the future of Iran must be a non-religious, non-nuclear republic built on the will of its people.

An inevitable victory that demands recognition
The continued actions of the Resistance Units across Iran highlight a fundamental reality: “Now everyone is convinced that the ruling religious dictatorship in Iran is more fragile than ever.”
The regime’s foundation is cracking under the pressure of a populace determined to win its freedom. In this fight, the Iranian Resistance does not ask for money or weapons from the world. It makes only one simple, just demand: “The Iranian people’s right to resistance for freedom must be recognized.” Recognizing this right is the most meaningful way the international community can stand on the right side of history and support the Iranian people’s quest for a democratic revolution.
