Tunne Kelam, member of the European Parliament, delivered a speech at the Free Iran 2018 rally, the largest gathering of the Iranian opposition, which took place in Villepinte, France, in June.
“Today there are 1000 Ashrafs in Iran and it’s our job to support them. We’re the group of friends for free Iran,” said Kelam, a reference to the expansion of the activities of the supporters of PMOI/MEK inside Iran.
Kelam also criticized the failed drive to appease the so-called moderate factions within the Iranian regime. “The moment has arrived to end the illusion that butchers can become more human and civilized,” Kelam said, concluding, “We have one choice: To support the restoration of freedom and dignity to the people of Iran.”
