Protests by Iranian communication workers in Tehran

Report by PMOI/MEK

Iran, Aug 7, 2019 – On Tuesday, workers, and employees of the Rural Communications Department held a demonstration in front of the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Communication in Tehran to protest against poor working conditions and low wages.

The protestors chanted slogans such as, “Shame on you incapable managers” and “Incapable managers should resign.”

In a symbolic act, protestors placed empty tablecloths on the ground to picture their poor living conditions.

In the past years, labor protests have become a common sight across Iran, especially in Tehran, where communities from different cities gather to hold demonstrations outside government institutions.

Protesters regularly chant slogans against regime officials and institutions who are responsible for their poor work and living conditions. Systematic corruption among government officials and organizations have resulted in rampant poverty, unemployment, and inflation.
