Iran, Nov. 6, 2018 – In spite of the Iranian regime’s propaganda pertaining to responding to the demands of nationwide protesters and fixing the country’s economic problems, the past week has seen an increasing number of protests aimed at the government’s inefficiencies and corruption.

In Tehran, customers of regime-backed financial institutions staged demonstrations in front of the parliament on Monday. The protesters were chanting slogans against regime corruption and called out Iranian officials of abusing their religious power to plunder the wealth of the people.
Several investment and financial institutions that have ties to the IRGC and the Iranian regime’s governmental bodies have stolen the funds of their customers. The scandal has sparked protests in various Iranian cities, which have been ongoing for more than a year.

Also in front of the parliament, another group of students demonstrated in protest to the results of the Law School test of 2018, asking officials to respond to the lack of publishing the results of the tests. “Where are our report cards?” the protesters demanded, declaring that the test must be voided.

Elsewhere in Tehran, demonstrators gathered at the entrance of the Azad University for Science and Research. The demonstrators are protesting against regime officials stealing their lands to raise buildings. Azad University is privately owned and mostly belongs to regime officials, who use it as a cover for embezzlement and money laundering operations.

In Ahvaz, Khuzestan province, the workers of Gorouh-e Meli Foulad-e Ahvaz (Ahvaz National Steel Group) gathered in front of the offices of this company and protested against unpaid wages. The workers have not received their salaries for three months.

The steel factory, which is run by regime officials, has a checkered history in responding to the demands of its workers. In the past years, the workers of Ahvaz Steel have protested on several occasions and for continuous periods of time against unpaid wages, subpar working conditions and other minimum rights and conditions that all laborers should be entitled to.
