Iran, July 22, 2019 – On Friday, June 14, Iran’s state-run news agencies published statistics and charts showing the price increase of some basic food items in 2018-2019. These pictures another aspect of the regime’s rapacity and plundering the Iranian people.
The list is as it follows:
Onion: 511% increase
Cooking oil: 93% increase
Tomato sauce: 228% increase
Persian rice (high quality): 51% increase
Lamb meat (which could be afforded by a few people): 43% increase
Milk: 72% increase
Yogurt: 79% increase
Eggs: 33% increase
Tomatoes: 189% increase
Sugar-cube: 83% increase
The important fact is that all the items on this list are nationally produced and are not impacted by the international sanctions, as the regime tries to portray.
The common denominator of all these price increases, according to the regime’s Minister of Economy, is the tax imposed by the regime.
The minister said in an interview with regime’s Channel 1, on June 8, “Last year, we had over 1,090-trillion rial tax income. As we are going through the oil-dependent era to the income-dependent era which weighs on the shoulder of the public finance.”
He deliberately hides this truth that Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has imposed taxes on the poor Iranian people, in order to pay for regime’s wars, the export of terrorism and fund terrorist groups such as Hezbollah.
