Retired workers in Azerbaijan protest to unpaid wages
On Tuesday, a group of retired workers of the Eastern Azerbaijan Communications Company held a protest gathering in front of the central office of the province’s communication organization. The protesters raised a large banner in front of the office and demanded regime officials to respond to their demands.
The workers are demanding the complete implementation of the 2010 executive order for contracts and the payment of their overdue salaries. Azerbaijan Communications has approximately 500 retired workers.
Unpaid wages are one of the main demands of many Iranian labor communities who are protesting in various Iranian cities.
Petrochemical workers in Tehran protest to their work conditions
A group of workers of the Farabi Petrochemical Company in Tehran held demonstrations inside the premises of the company in protest to the dismissal of 12 of their coworkers and the regime’s inaction in implementing plans to standardize work conditions and contracts.
Previous days have also seen protests by the workers of HEPCO in Arak, who are demanding better payment terms and contract conditions. Also protesting on Tuesday were retired Iranian teachers and education workers, who have been protesting for better work conditions and payment of delayed wages.
