Iran under the mullahs is the pioneer of waste & pollution

Analysis by PMOI/MEK

Iran, July 18, 2019 – Poverty, inflation, unemployment, and repression have been the character marks of the mullahs’ regime during the past four decades since the Islamic Republic came to power in Iran. However, the list of devastations and despairs does not stop there. Another major calamity brought upon this nation of 80 million population is an environmental catastrophe.

Just a few months ago devastating floods destroyed the majority of the country, leaving millions of people homeless and ruining thousands upon thousands of homes and infrastructures. Despite repeated calls and protests by the flood-ravaged people, the regime of thieves has not responded to the people’s griefs and requests for help. Thousands are still living in makeshift tents or the remaining ruins of their homes.

Nevertheless, the list of miseries brought upon this nation does not stop here either.

Water, soil, and plant erosion is another calamity by this regime. Iranian regime Vice President Isa Kalantari has recently acknowledged this.

“Iran is a pioneer and the first in the world as far as water, soil, plant, and genetic material erosion and also producing waste and contributing heavily to pollution,” Kalantari said.

“Each country must reserve 17% of the capacity for future generations. However, this figure is only 12% in Iran,” he said, acknowledging the wretched condition of the environment in the mullahs’ ruled Iran.
