Iran, Dec.27, 2018 – Members of Resistance Units, a network associated to the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are continuing their campaign of setting fire to images of regime icons.
The latest measures involve posters of Iranian regime founder Khomeini and current Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

On the same day, members of Resistance Unit 612 in Shahroud, northern Iran, set fire to a large banner with similar images. They also left a sign at the scene reading, “Khamenei should know he will be overthrown soon – Hail to Rajavi – We support Ahvaz steelworkers.”
National Steel Group workers in Ahvaz were arrested after a 38-day strike and now their families are demanding their release.

The day before in Qom, central Iran, members of a resistance unit set fire to a sign at the entrance of a site associated to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Basij located in the city’s Safa Square.
On the same day, members of a resistance unit in the town of Nusheen near Urmia, northwest Iran, set fire to a large Khamenei poster. They also left a sign at the scene reading, “Death to Khamenei – Hail to Rajavi – We demand the release of all jailed Ahvaz steelworkers.”
