Iran, July 13, 2018 – Families of the individuals who perished during the tragic bus-truck accident in Sanandaj, western Iran, laid their loved ones to rest at funeral ceremonies on Thursday. City locals were also attending the ceremony.
Those who survived this incident and the general public of Sanandaj consider this accident the result of negligence by Iranian regime officials regarding the people’s rightful demands, especially those raised by residents of the city’s Dr. Hossein Fatemi Boulevard.

The shocking accident at the city’s Dr. Hossein Fatemi Boulevard involved a large fuel truck slamming into a passenger bus. The tanker was smuggling oil from Kirkuk in northern Iraq into Iran for the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).
Instead of sending emergency units to the scene at the night of this tragic accident, the criminal mullahs’ regime dispatched security forces to the site to prevent any further anger erupting from the locals. This only led to even more abhorrence and clashes between the locals and security forces.

People present at the accident scene also say the fire trucks arriving to turn out the fire literally had no water and people were forced to tackle the blaze using buckets of water. This tragic reality resulted in more of the passengers losing their lives.
The mullahs’ regime is refusing to disclose the exact number of victims who lost their lives in this accident, resorting to publishing conflicting reports in its media outlets. Local sources are reporting up to 30 people lost their lives in this accident. State news agencies, however, are reporting 11 individuals perishing.
Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi issued a message of condolences to the victims’ families.
Condolences to the families of the victims of the catastrophic bus accident in #Sanandaj. Shame on #Iran's ruling mullahs who sent anti-riot guards to suppress the people instead of tending to the wounded. Such desperate efforts will not save the mullahs from our people’s fury.
