In Kermanshah, for the first time following the novel coronavirus outbreak, the number of new patients in the span of 24 hours surpassed the 300 mark. The number of confirmed cases in this province reached 314 in the past 24 hours, according to a report issued by the head of the Kermanshah Medical Sciences University’s Public Relations Committee and wired on Thursday by the regime’s official IRIB news agency.

In Kurdistan province, following a significant escalation in the number of new COVID-19 cases and the area remaining a red zone, the Towhid Hospital in the city of Sanandaj has been fully allocated to COVID-19 patients. The number of these patients are literally skyrocketing. “After evaluating charts of the new cases, Be’sat and Kowthar hospitals in Sanandaj have been designated as second and third back-up facilities, respectively, for the Towhid Hospital,” said the dean of Kurdistan Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the Tasnim news agency.

“The COVID-19 spread in the past few days has increased across the [East Azerbaijan] province and we are one of the provinces that are on the brink of sounding alarm bells,” said the deputy dean of Tabriz Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the state-run Asr-e Iran daily. Based on the “latest evaluations, the Health Ministry has designated nine out of 21 cities in East Azerbaijan province as code red areas,” according to a report wired on Thursday by the IRGC-affiliated Javan daily.
