Iran coronavirus update: Over 467,800 deaths, foreign vaccines depleted and no new orders

Iran, October 31, 2021—Over 467,800 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Sunday afternoon local time, October 31. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 126,303, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 109,645 in Tehran, 38,250 in Razavi Khorasan, 31,865 in Isfahan, 28,620 in Khuzestan, 17,338 in West Azerbaijan, 17,175 in Mazandaran, 17,140 in Fars, 16,315 in Gilan, 16,258 in East Azerbaijan, 15,540 in Lorestan, 12,467 in Kerman, 8619 in Kermanshah, 7845 in Hormozgan, 4463 in Ilam, and 3424 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Sunday as 177 deaths and 8427 new cases. Furthermore, 3888 patients are in ICUs and 1108 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“With the consignment of 60 million dozes of Sinopharm being depleted, Iran’s imported vaccines have been all used and from long ago there have been no new orders for vaccines,” said the spokesperson of the Red Crescent in Iran, according to a report published on Sunday by the state-run Roydad24 outlet.

“During the past two or three months when the province of Kermanshah was registered as a red zone, each day we were burying 40 to 45 people in Kermanshah. Half of the victims were suspicious to have died of coronavirus. This had resulted in the number of burials per day tripling in the cemeteries during the past two or three months. On some days during the peak of this illness in this province, we were witnessing 60 burials per days. Again, half of these people were suspicious to have died of coronavirus. In just one day alone we had 38 deaths in cemeteries across Kermanshah province consisting of people were suspicious to have died of coronavirus,” said the director of cemeteries in Kermanshah Province on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

 

 

“The increasing trend of coronavirus cases and the increasing number of people being hospitalized in city of Kohgiluyeh indicates the sixth peak began earlier than expected. During the days of October 8 and 9 more than 50 percent of our PCR tests results were positive. This is similar to the peak of the previous waves,” said the dean of the Kohgiluyeh Health Network on Sunday, according to the state-run Vatan-e Emruz daily.

“During the past week the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in [Ilam] province has been increasing. Ilam is among the provinces that have had the highest number of new cases across the country,” said the dean of Ilam Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the state-run Moj News news agency.

“During the past three weeks once again, we have witnessed an increased trend of positive cases across South Khorasan province due to coronavirus, which is causing concerns. As a result, we are once again witnessing a new rise of this illness in South Khorasan province,” said the dean of South Khorasan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The number of people hospitalized stands at 187 and 100 others are under our watch,” said the dean of Ardabil Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), referring to the increasing number of Covid-19 patients being hospitalized in Ardabil province.

“During the past 24 hours 240 new patients have been hospitalized and 21 lost their lives. We currently have 1461 patients hospitalized, of which 230 are in ICUs,” according to a joint statement released by the Isfahan and Kashan Medical Sciences universities.

“During the past 24 hours 181 new coronavirus patients have been hospitalized. We currently have 1533 patients hospitalized, of which 201 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released on Sunday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University.
