While most of the regime’s own experts are warning about the re-opening of schools, regime President Ebrahim Raisi once again emphasized today on re-opening schools. “The Health Ministry, with collaboration from the ministries of Sciences and Education, should plan in a way for schools and universities to open by November 22 according to rules and regulations,” he said.

“In the near future we will be faced with the sixth peak. The presence of students in schools can be the start of the new peak… currently we are also dealing with the re-opening of various halls, sports clubs, and… All these issues are considered sources of threats,” said a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Saturday, according to the state-run Hamshahri daily.

“In contrast to the previous peaks we have entered the sixth peak immediately after the fifth peak. It is extremely unfortunately,” said another member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Friday, according to state TV.

“The country is still dealing with the fifth peak. The number of deaths is high, and the number of new cases is significant. Therefore, we still cannot consider the fifth peak as over, and now we await the sixth peak,” according to a piece published on Saturday in the state-run Hamshahri daily.

“In the past few weeks Razavi Khorasan province has been among the leading provinces with the highest number of new cases, people being hospitalized, and coronavirus deaths. The number of people being hospitalized this past week increased by 23 percent,” according to a statement released on Saturday by the Razavi Khorasan Medical Sciences University.

“In Kurdistan province, the fifth coronavirus peak was the longest peak since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Currently most of the provinces have surpassed the fifth peak, but this illness is still taking more lives in Kurdistan,” said the deputy dean of Kurdistan Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“We have 85 dire coronavirus patients in ICUs. We currently have 418 patients hospitalized,” said the deputy dean of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
