Iran coronavirus update: Over 440,900 deaths, stats begin to rise once again

Iran, September 27, 2021—Over 440,900 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Monday afternoon local time, September 27. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 119,649 around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 103,456 in Tehran, 36,125 in Razavi Khorasan, 29,380 in Isfahan, 27,021 in Khuzestan, 15,809 in Fars, 15,738 in West Azerbaijan, 15,608 in East Azerbaijan, 15,420 in Gilan, 14,820 in Lorestan, 12,893 in Alborz, 12,550 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 8298 in Hamedan, 8068 in Markazi (Central), 7864 in Kermanshah, 6952 in Kurdistan, 5684 in North Khorasan, 5545 in Ardabil, and 3851 in South Khorasan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Monday as 289 deaths and 14,470 new cases, of which 2219 were hospitalized. Furthermore, 6209 patients are in ICUs.

“In contrast to the past four weeks where we had decreasing coronavirus numbers, yesterday we witnessed an increase in our stats. This escalation was in the numbers of people seeking initial medical care and those being hospitalized, which can be considered a warning. It is necessary for our numbers to be monitored very carefully,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

During the past 24 hours 1067 people have contracted coronavirus in West Azerbaijan province, of which 372 were hospitalized, according to a Monday report wired by the regime’s official IRIB news agency. The total number of coronavirus patients hospitalized stands at 1928 in this province, the report continues, adding 31 coronavirus patients lost their lives in the past 24 hours.

 

“Our concerns are focused on the next wave which will be upon us in November, according to most experts,” said the deputy dean of Jondi Shapour Medical Sciences University in Ahvaz on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 277 new coronavirus patients have been hospitalized. Currently we have 1225 people hospitalized in our coronavirus branches, of which 206 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released on Monday by the Kermanshah Medical Sciences University.

“There are currently 2109 coronavirus patients in Isfahan province, of which 366 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours 29 people have lost their lives to coronavirus,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the state-run IMNA news agency.

 

“356 new patients were hospitalized in the past 24 hours. Currently we have 2121 patients hospitalized, of which 229 are in ICUs due to their dire conditions,” according to a statement released on Monday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University in Fars province.

“During the past 24 hours 98 patients with coronavirus symptoms were hospitalized in hospitals across [Qom] province. Currently there are 539 patients hospitalized, of which 204 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours 12 coronavirus positive patients lost their lives,” said the dean of Qom Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Coronavirus remains dangerous, and we may witness a spike in Covid-19 across the province at any time,” said the dean of Ardabil Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the IRGC Quds Force-affiliated Tasnim news agency.
