While the regime’s own officials and experts are reporting a shortage in beds and other hospital necessities parallel to an increasing number of new cases, regime President Hassan Rouhani continued his series of daily lies today. “We are exporting ventilators, we have the ability to produce a variety of medical needs, and we are reaching the point of mass producing the Iranian vaccine for Covid-19,” Rouhani claimed on Wednesday.

“The UK strain has been identified in many provinces. Many individuals that have contracted this type of the virus have never travelled, which indicates the virus is circulating,” said the spokesperson for the regime’s Health Ministry on Wednesday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“Even if all the paths are open, please, for the love of God, don’t go on vacations. Even if they send you free tickets and hotel reservations, know that they are sending you visas to contract this illness and ending up dead,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Tuesday, according to the state-run Hamdeli daily.

“Iran had the highest death rate among nurses during the coronavirus pandemic. The Health Ministry reported 100 nurses died of Covid-19, while the Nursing Apparatus reports 110, and the House of Nurses emphasizes that this figure is over 120 or 130,” said the Director of Iran’s House of Nurses on Wednesday. “Wrong policies are the reason why our nurses have died. In other countries, however, these number of nurses have not died of Covid-19,” this official added, according to the state-run Hamshahri daily.

“For the first time the city of Mahshahr surpassed the 100 mark in the number of people hospitalized with coronavirus in one day. More than ten individuals are in line due to the fact that there are no empty beds and 29 are in ICUs in dire conditions,” said the director of Mahshahr’s Health Network on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“With 120 new cases in the past 24 hours across Fars province the total number of people hospitalized currently stands at 605, of which 86 are in ICUs,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“Considering the fact that the number of positive Covid-19 cases have doubled in comparison to last week, a massive wave of this virus is taking shape at a very fast rate. The mutated strain of coronavirus is circulating, and this has significantly raised our concerns,” said the head of the Bandar Abbas Health Network on Wednesday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“To this day 30 individuals have been identified to have contracted the UK strain and they have been quarantined. Currently we have 125 coronavirus patients in ICUs, of which 52 are under ventilators,” said the dean of East Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“Currently 148 patients are in ICUs, of which 33 are under ventilators. To this day 3673 people have died of Covid-19 [in this province],” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“The coronavirus situation in [Qom] province should be described as a slow to fast trend. Usually following an increase in the number of new cases, the number of people hospitalized, and the death rate will also increase. Therefore, there is still a concern of a new wave of Covid-19 across the province,” said the dean of Qom Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“Most of the country’s physicians are against the process adopted by the Health Minister. During the past year he has shown that he is more a political director than a director focused on epidemic crisis management. He has focused his efforts on gaining the attention of specific political circles,” according to a Wednesday piece published in the state-run Mostaghel daily.

“The cost of Covid-19 medical care is back-breaking, especially for poor families who have several members contracting the virus. Therefore, coronavirus kills more people among the poor… Despite the fact that the death toll and the number of new cases are declared by the Health Ministry, there is not one empty bed in Tehran’s hospitals,” according to a Wednesday piece published in the state-run Jahan-e San’at daily.
